 Our panicked search continued for longer than I cared to believe. My feet were aching, and I clung to Kael with tears within my eyes. I had lost count of the amount of tunnels I had searched along. The walls I had run my hand along. Any small detail to point in the direction of where my mother could be. 

 Perhaps I had been naive to believe that the moment Althea had allowed the veil to drop that I was so close to finally saving my mother. Only as the moments of my running increased, I began to realise that I had been foolish. There was no closeness. She was scared to allow her to be saved... 

 "Come on." Kael whispered. "We can find her."
