Fear gripped hold of me. Kael wanted to talk. Did that mean he was going to cancel this whole thing and send me back home... I mean, would that be such a bad thing if he did? Then the image of my father's angry face flashed through my mind, and I knew that it was the last thing that I needed to happen. A feeling of dread took over me. What was I to say to him? That as nice as he may be, the thought of marrying him or allowing myself to get close to him repulsed me? The man would be hurt. And he simply did not deserve it.
