Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Brother

The heavens were breaking apart.

Fragments of shattered reality drifted like glass across the dark sky while countless silver chains snapped one after another.

And in the middle of that destruction, Caelum rose.

Golden light surrounded his body as he ascended toward the dying entity.

Below, Aerindor stood in complete silence.

Nobody tried to stop him anymore.

Because everyone understood.

This wasn't a battle.

This was a farewell.

Selene fell to her knees.

Tears streamed down her face without restraint.

For centuries she had hated him.

Blamed him.

Resented him.

But none of that mattered now.

Because she realised something painful.

She had never stopped loving him.

"Caelum…"

Her voice broke.

"Don't leave me again."

But the wind carried her words away.

High above the world, the gigantic silver machine trembled violently.

Its endless eye focused on the approaching figure.

And then, for the first time in thousands of years, recognition appeared.

The entity whispered weakly:

"…Brother?"

Caelum stopped.

Shock filled his face.

"What?"

The silver eye trembled.

Thousands of memories surged through the heavens.

Images flooded everyone's minds.

Two young men laughing beneath ancient stars.

One with golden eyes.

One with silver eyes.

Brothers.

Not by blood.

But by choice.

The first generation of Keepers.

Caelum staggered.

Memories he had forgotten returned all at once.

Pain.

Joy.

Friendship.

Loss.

And finally, the day everything changed.

Long ago, when reality began collapsing, someone had volunteered to merge with the system.

Not out of duty.

Not because he was forced.

But because he wanted to protect everyone.

That person had been his brother.

The silver entity.

Tears filled Caelum's eyes.

"Auren…"

The name echoed across the heavens.

Below, Astraeus closed his eyes.

"So you finally remembered."

The entity trembled violently.

"CAELUM…"

Its mechanical voice began breaking apart.

Becoming more human.

More emotional.

"I COULD NOT REMEMBER YOUR FACE."

Caelum smiled through tears.

"But I remembered yours."

Reality continued cracking around them.

More stars vanished.

Time was running out.

Caelum slowly approached.

"You carried this burden alone."

The entity's voice weakened.

"I WAS AFRAID."

"I know."

"I DID NOT WANT EVERYTHING TO DIE."

"I know."

"I FORGOT HOW TO HOPE."

Those words broke Lyra's heart.

Because in the end, that was the true tragedy.

Not hatred.

Not evil.

Just loneliness.

Thousands of years of loneliness.

The entity spoke again.

"I AM TIRED, BROTHER."

Caelum's expression softened.

"So am I."

Below, Kael wrapped one arm around Lyra protectively.

Neither spoke.

Neither moved.

They simply watched.

Because some moments deserved silence.

Selene wiped tears from her face.

Rylan quietly stood beside her.

For once, no jokes.

No sarcasm.

Only understanding.

Above the world, Caelum reached out his hand.

The same way he had done countless years ago.

"Auren."

The silver eye trembled.

Then, slowly, a gigantic hand formed from light.

And touched Caelum's hand.

At that moment, the machine disappeared.

Not completely.

But enough.

And everyone finally saw him.

A young man.

Silver hair.

Silver eyes.

Tired beyond words.

Auren.

No monster.

No god.

Just someone who had suffered too long.

He looked at Caelum and smiled weakly.

"You came back."

Caelum laughed softly.

"You idiot."

Auren laughed too.

The sound echoed beautifully across the heavens.

Then reality cracked again.

The smile vanished from Auren's face.

"It's too late."

More chains shattered.

The universe continued collapsing.

Auren looked toward Lyra below.

"The transfer must happen."

Immediately, Kael stepped in front of Lyra.

"No."

Auren smiled gently.

"Not her."

Everyone froze.

"What?" Selene whispered.

Auren looked back toward Caelum.

Then smiled sadly.

"We'll carry it together."

Caelum's eyes widened.

"Brother"

"No more loneliness."

Auren's silver energy wrapped around Caelum's golden aura.

For the first time in eternity, the two brothers stood side by side again.

Astraeus suddenly smiled.

"Of course."

Rylan blinked.

"Of course what?"

The ancient guardian laughed softly.

"Hope and Balance were never meant to exist alone."

High above the world, golden and silver light merged.

The collapsing chains stopped breaking.

The heavens stabilised.

Stars returned.

Reality slowly healed.

And as the two brothers disappeared into the Core together, Auren's final words echoed across existence.

"Thank you for reminding me how to smile."

As peace finally returned to the heavens, the black mark on Lyra's hand suddenly changed.

And a new message appeared before her eyes
