On the shores of Cider Lake, Bennett and his friends were delighted to learn that Klee would also be fishing with them. Just as they were about to ask her how to complete the fishing commission as quickly as possible, they saw her take off her backpack.
Were they getting fishing gear? They were puzzled. Then Klee pulled a Jumpy Dumpty out of her backpack, smiled at them, and said, "Watch Klee fish! Klee is the best at fishing!"
Before anyone could react, she tossed the Jumpy Dumpty into Cider Lake.
Boom!
The bomb exploded in the lake, sending up a huge splash that drenched everyone in Benny's Adventuring Team. They were all shocked. A bomb! It really exploded!
Seeing the blast, the entire team took a step back. The first thought that crossed their minds was: this little girl is way too dangerous! She just tosses such a powerful bomb without even warning them?
While they were still stunned, Klee was overjoyed. "The Jumpy Dumpty exploded! Another successful fishing trip! Klee really is a fishing genius—that's what Mother says too."
She danced with joy at the huge splash. The others just stared in disbelief. Only now did they realize: this little girl's name was Klee? The same Klee from one of the commission tasks? Too bad they hadn't chosen the "Find the missing Klee" commission; they had picked the fishing one.
One of the team members asked, "Are you Klee? You said you were fishing?" Using bombs to fish? In all of Mondstadt's history, no one had ever done that. It was utterly ridiculous.
Klee smiled. "Of course it's fishing! Look, the fish are already coming up! We get to eat delicious grilled fish again!"
She laughed and ran toward the lake. The others turned and saw dozens of plump, high-quality bass floating on the water. They had all been killed by the blast? Was that really a viable way to fish?
Seeing Klee about to jump into the lake to collect them, the team members were alarmed. "Little Klee—the water is deep! Let us help you fetch them."
A few of them waded in and helped Klee gather the bass. Piled together, the number of fish was impressive. The team members couldn't stop grinning.
Unfortunately, the bass belonged to Klee, not the team. But there was no way a little girl like Klee could eat that many fish. And she didn't dare bring them back to the Knights of Favonius. If Acting Grand Master Jean found out she had been fishing with bombs, she'd be confined to solitary confinement again.
So Klee gave some of the fish to Benny's Adventuring Team. "Thank you for helping me collect the fish. I'll give these to you. But Klee has one small request."
Bennett, as the team's leader, accepted the bass. With these, Benny's Adventuring Team would have successfully completed their very first commission. He said solemnly, "What is your request? If it's something our team can do, we'll help you."
Klee said happily, "My request is: please don't tell anyone that Klee used bombs to fish. Especially don't tell Master Jean!"
Though she had only recently arrived in Mondstadt and joined the Knights of Favonius, she had already learned how formidable Master Jean was. You could annoy anyone except her.
Bennett was taken aback. Such a simple request? "Alright. I swear as the leader of Benny's Adventuring Team that we will not tell anyone you used bombs to fish."
After bidding farewell to little Klee, the team took the bass and successfully returned to the Adventurers' Guild. They handed over the fish, received the commission reward, and completed their first task.
In the days that followed, Bennett and his team took on one commission after another. Since they were still very young, the commissions they received were quite simple. Nevertheless, they experienced the joy of adventuring and accumulated valuable experience.
After completing those simple tasks, Bennett and his team grew older. They began to yearn for mysterious domains and ancient ruins, wanting to seek greater treasures. So Bennett started accepting more dangerous commissions.
But in mission after mission, their team encountered many problems. It was as if they were cursed with bad luck. Almost every commission brought some unexpected accident.
For example, one time—a companion named Jack was only a few steps away from a treasure when a rare Geo energy turbulence struck. The violent earthquake opened a massive chasm right in front of them. Seeing the treasure so close, Jack leaped for it. Not only did he fail to reach it, he broke his leg. The mission ended in total failure.
Another time—when Benny's Adventuring Team entered a domain, ready to search for treasure, a deafening explosion came from somewhere. The entire domain blew up. One of the team members was buried under rubble and nearly died. Later they learned that the explosion wasn't caused by elemental turbulence, but by Klee of the Knights of Favonius, who had mistaken the domain for a giant rabbit burrow and blown it up with her bombs. For that incident, Klee was confined for a week.
Another time—a new member joined the team and immediately came down with severe diarrhea that lasted over a month. The moment he announced he was leaving Benny's Adventuring Team, the diarrhea suddenly stopped.
The above examples are only a few of the misfortunes that befell Benny's Adventuring Team. There were so many more, impossible to list even in three days and three nights.
In short, after Benny's Adventuring Team had been around for just over two years, not a single member was in good health. Either they had broken a leg in an accident, or they had shattered an arm in a sudden mishap. Even Bennett himself was constantly getting injured, frequently visiting the Church of Favonius to seek Barbara's healing.
Gradually, the members of Benny's Adventuring Team came to understand—and even people outside the team found out—that this team was cursed with bad luck. The team itself was unlucky. Anyone who joined Benny's Adventuring Team would choke on water, cough on air, and have birds poop on their heads while standing idle on the street. It was downright abysmal luck.
