Infinity Castle.

The gathered Upper Moons stood in silence, waiting for Muzan to appear.

At least, that was how it was supposed to go.

Doma, dressed in his usual flashy clothes, kept poking Akaza in the waist with his fan like they were old friends.

"Akaza-dono, it's been a while, hasn't it?"

Akaza's brows furrowed. He didn't answer, only glancing sideways at him.

Doma smiled anyway and casually threw an arm over Akaza's shoulder.

"You're still as cold as ever, Akaza-dono. By the way, are you still refusing to eat women? What a shame. Women are the most nutritious, you know."

"Even though you became a demon long before me, I'm the one who rose higher. Funny how that works."

"Shut up."

Akaza's fist clenched on its own. Veins bulged on his forehead as he looked ready to swing at any moment.

Doma leaned in closer, pretending he didn't hear. "What was that? I couldn't quite catch it~"

"I said shut your damn mouth!"

Akaza finally snapped and punched Doma's head clean off, splattering blood across the floor.

Hantengu trembled in the corner, curling into a ball.

Of course, for an Upper Moon, that wasn't even a real injury.

Doma's head grew back in seconds. He smiled like nothing happened.

"Akaza-dono, your way of saying hello really hasn't changed at all. Still as special as ever."

Even after getting his head blown off, Akaza's anger hadn't cooled. He raised his fist again.

"Enough."

A cold voice cut in. Silver light flashed.

Thud.

Akaza's arm dropped to the floor.

He looked up. Standing there was the man he had long seen as the pinnacle of martial arts—the one he desperately wanted to surpass.

Upper Rank One. Kokushibo.

Kokushibo spoke flatly. "Akaza. You went too far."

Doma waved a hand casually. "It's fine, Kokushibo-dono. I let him hit me on purpose. Upper Ranks should be tolerant of those below them. It helps build relationships, after all."

"I'm not speaking for you," Kokushibo replied evenly. "I simply dislike seeing the hierarchy disrupted."

For a brief moment, the image of his younger brother, Yoriichi, flashed through his mind.

He turned to Akaza. "If you're dissatisfied, you may challenge me for my rank anytime."

Akaza lowered his head, muscles tense, body trembling. Then he suddenly looked up, eyes burning.

"I will kill you."

"I'll be waiting."

With that, everyone returned to their positions. The air fell silent again as they waited for Muzan.

After a while, Gyokko couldn't hold back anymore.

"Nakime, when is Lord Muzan arriving?"

Clang.

Nakime plucked her biwa. "He's here."

The entire Infinity Castle rumbled as rooms shifted and rearranged.

Soon, a room stopped in front of them.

Muzan stood there in a sharp suit, his expression cold.

"Is everyone here?"

Doma tilted his head. "Huh? Everyone's here already? But Upper Rank Six isn't here yet."

"Oh, I see. So Upper Rank Six was killed? I thought this meeting was for a rank challenge."

Doma smacked his forehead like he just realized something. "What a shame. If I'd known, I would've eaten Daki myself. What a waste."

After all, Daki was quite the beauty.

Muzan's brow twitched. He stared at Doma with clear irritation.

Doma quickly clasped his hands together. "Sorry, sorry! I talked too much."

Muzan's voice was icy. "Hundreds of years have passed. You still haven't found the Blue Spider Lily. You haven't dealt with the Ubuyashiki family either. So tell me—what purpose do any of you even serve anymore?"

"Lord Muzan! Lord Muzan!"

Gyokko excitedly raised his four baby-like arms.

The next second, his body collapsed. His head was gone.

Muzan now held Gyokko's ugly head in his hand.

"Who gave you permission to speak?"

Muzan looked at the head with disgust. "Do you want to die that badly?"

He had already been annoyed when Doma interrupted him earlier. Now Gyokko had done it again.

Gyokko's head sprouted arms that covered its face in a lovesick expression. "Ah~ Lord Muzan is touching my head~"

Muzan's vertical pupils narrowed in revulsion. His fingers started to tighten.

Gyokko felt the pressure and quickly spoke up. "Please wait, Lord Muzan! I've already found information about both the Ubuyashiki family and the Blue Spider Lily!"

"Oh?"

Muzan's interest was piqued. He loosened his grip slightly.

Gyokko let out a small breath of relief. "On my way here, I ate a few Demon Slayers. They told me the Corps found something that seems to be the Blue Spider Lily. They're planning to use it to treat the Ubuyashiki family's hereditary disease."

"In the near future, the head of the Ubuyashiki family will likely go to the Butterfly Mansion for treatment."

"Are you certain?"

Muzan's grip tightened again.

Gyokko nodded frantically. "Please give me time, Lord Muzan! I'll investigate everything properly!"

"Very well."

Muzan's mood improved slightly. "I'll give you one month. Find out everything."

"If you fail… don't bother coming back."

He tossed Gyokko's head back toward his body, then looked at Hantengu.

"Hantengu. You'll assist Gyokko. You have one month as well."

He paused, noticing something off. "Hantengu… your presence has weakened. Why?"

Hantengu's body jolted.

Ever since Shuya stole his Blood Demon Art, he hadn't been able to recover it no matter how many people he ate. He had even hidden Tamayo's existence out of fear of being demoted.

He never expected Muzan to call a meeting so soon.

"I—I—"

Muzan didn't like the reaction. He directly accessed Hantengu's memories.

Tamayo. Humans. Red Blade. Stolen Blood Demon Art.

Muzan's golden vertical pupils locked onto Hantengu.

No wonder his presence had weakened so much.

Muzan's mood, which had slightly improved, soured again.

"You thought you could hide this from me?"

Hantengu dropped to his knees, kowtowing desperately. "Lord Muzan, spare me! I wasn't trying to hide it, I just… I was just—"

"Afraid of losing your rank?"

Muzan's voice was freezing.

What bothered him wasn't that Hantengu had gotten weaker.

An Upper Rank Four could be replaced anytime.

What bothered him was that Hantengu had known about Tamayo and deliberately kept it from him.

That was betrayal.

Muzan stared at the kneeling demon with pure disgust.

"Lord Mu—"

Hantengu's voice cut off.

The next second, his lifeless body was thrown in front of Nakime.

Muzan looked down at the corpse. "Trash has no value."

He turned to Nakime. "Eat him. From now on, you're Upper Rank Four."

"You'll assist Gyokko in finding the Blue Spider Lily. If you fail, you'll end up just like Hantengu."

Muzan was furious.

In his anger, he even forgot how valuable Nakime's ability to control the Infinity Castle was.

He was also unsettled by the memory of someone using a Red Blade and stealing a Blood Demon Art.

Killing Hantengu served two purposes: calming his own fear, and sending a clear message to the rest of the Upper Moons.

In his eyes, they were all disposable.

From now on, they would pour everything into finding the Blue Spider Lily.

"Thank you, Lord Muzan."

Nakime showed no fear. She knew her Blood Demon Art made her too valuable to discard easily.

Instead of fear, she looked at Hantengu's body with clear hunger.

Once Muzan gave permission, she lunged forward. Her bangs parted, revealing the massive eye that took up a third of her face.

The quiet, refined aura around her vanished completely.

Only the sound of her devouring Hantengu's corpse remained.

Muzan snorted and turned away without another glance at the remaining Upper Moons.

He walked toward where the Lower Moons were gathered.

Now that he had information about the Blue Spider Lily, neither Upper nor Lower Moons had any reason to continue existing.

But before getting rid of them, he would make them useful one last time.

---

Butterfly Mansion.

Shinobu lay on her bed, unable to sleep.

She touched her lips, still remembering last night.

No wonder so many people were obsessed with that kind of thing.

Even she was starting to crave it.

But her pride would never let her go looking for Shuya on her own.

And touching herself? Absolutely not. Kanae would feel it through their shared sensations.

If her sister found out, she'd never be able to look her in the eye again.

At this point, she might as well just go find Shuya directly.

"Hm?"

Shinobu suddenly felt a strange, electric sensation on her lips.

She recognized it immediately.

It was the same feeling she got when she kissed Shuya.

"Big sister! Big sister!"

Shinobu sat up and looked at the wall.

The sensation was strong.

Kanae had to be very close—probably right next door.

The realization made her blood boil.

She had specifically told her sister not to go looking for Shuya.

Not only did Kanae ignore her, she was doing it right next door like she was taunting her.

What the hell was that supposed to be?

Revenge for last night?

Shinobu grabbed her Nichirin Blade, slipped on her shoes, and stormed toward the door.

She was going to march in there and cut both of those shameless bastards down.

Knock knock knock!

Shuya's eyes sharpened when he heard the urgent knocking.

Just as he expected.

Shinobu had come.

And from the way she was gripping her blade, she didn't look like she was here for a friendly chat.

Shuya swallowed.

He glanced at Kanae beside him, wanting to see what she planned to do.

To his surprise, Kanae was smiling with a strange, knowing look.

Shuya couldn't help but think—

Did she do this on purpose?

Was she actually planning to hold Shinobu down for him?

He asked quietly, "Kanae… should I open the door?"

"Of course~"

Kanae answered lightly.

That single reply confirmed it for Shuya.

She had been stalling earlier just to wait for Shinobu.

His anticipation grew.

He really hoped she wouldn't disappoint him.

Under Shuya's gaze, Kanae hopped off the bed and opened the door with a bright smile.

Shinobu stood outside, looking surprised that the door had opened so easily.

She had already been ready to cut it down.

Shinobu glanced at her sister.

Kanae's clothes were neat. Her expression was normal.

Had she misunderstood?

Then Shinobu looked past her into the room and immediately saw Shuya sitting on the bed, watching her.

Misunderstanding, my ass!

Shuya was already inside.

If they weren't about to do that, were they planning to play board games instead?

Did they think she was stupid?!

What pissed her off even more was how casually Shuya waved at her and spoke like nothing was wrong.

"You're just in time."

For some reason, those simple words made Shinobu's anger flare even hotter.

Her grip on the Nichirin Blade tightened. She was dangerously close to drawing it.

Still, she held back for now and turned to her sister.

Shinobu lowered her voice, trying to contain her rage. "Big sister. I already warned you, didn't I?"

"Yes."

Kanae nodded, not denying it.

Shinobu frowned. "Then why—?"

"It's obvious, isn't it? Because I broke my promise~"

Kanae stuck out her tongue playfully.

A vein popped on Shinobu's forehead.

She really wanted to ask if her sister thought she was being funny.

But right now, she was more in the mood to settle this with blades.

She tightened her grip on her sword.

Today, she was going to show her former Flower Hashira sister exactly how strong the current Insect Hashira was.

"Big sister. Draw your blade."

"Hey, Shinobu."

Kanae looked at her little sister and said something that made no sense at first.

"You remember how we share sensations, right?"

"What are you talking about?"

Shinobu didn't understand. She thought Kanae was trying to avoid fighting.

But it was way too late for that.

"Because when you're with Shuya, I feel uncomfortable. And when I'm with Shuya, you feel uncomfortable too."

Kanae continued, "So after I found out about that… I got really curious about one thing."

"What would it feel like if I did this?"

Before Shinobu could react, Kanae's body turned translucent and lunged straight at her.

"What—?!"

Shinobu's pupils shrank.

She finally understood what her sister was trying to do.

And knowing Kanae… she was actually crazy enough to go through with it.

Shinobu instinctively dodged to the side, dropping her sword in the process.

But she was too slow.

The next second, Kanae's body overlapped with hers and merged inside.

Both Shinobu and Shuya only realized it at that moment.

After their contract, Kanae and Shinobu had gained the ability to fuse together.

Shuya stared in shock.

He thought Kanae was just going to hold Shinobu down for him.

He never expected this.

Holy shit.

He couldn't help but think of a certain movie line.

Goddamn, you're a genius!

From within Shinobu's body, Kanae's voice called out to him.

"Shuya, what are you waiting for? Aren't you curious?"

Of course he was curious. His curiosity was about to explode.

He looked at the girl in front of him.

She had Shinobu's appearance, but her entire aura and expression were pure Kanae.

In Dragon Ball, when Vegeta and Goku fused, they became Vegito.

So what should he call the fusion of Shinobu and Kanae?

Shinobu + Kanae…

Shinokana? Or just… Ninkana?

Whatever.

Shuya could already feel his excitement rising fast.

His body was more than ready.

"Don't—!"

Shinobu's voice came out of the merged body, only to be immediately overridden by Kanae's.

"Objection overruled, little Shinobu~"

Click.

Kanae locked the door behind her.

Then she looked at Shuya and slowly started walking toward him, controlling Shinobu's body.

As she walked, she began removing her clothes one piece at a time.
