Chapter 133 - Don't Make Those Eyes

Xingyue furrowed her brow upon hearing what her master said. She extended her spiritual sense to see what he was referring to, and seeing the situation the elf found herself in, she furrowed her brow even deeper.

"Master…"

To Cassian, it was obvious that she was indeed worried. He sighed lowly and, leaving only these words, vanished:

"Come when you put some clothes on."

Xingyue understood what he meant. She could have changed immediately to follow him, but seeing the messy bed from what they had done and her master's warmth still there, she lay down again and began to wrap herself in the sheets and smell the remaining scent they held.

As for Cassian, he arrived silently at the place where Celestia was about to pass out from fear; but she wasn't going to let them play with her without resisting either. As if the realization had hit her, she stood up abruptly, staring fixedly at the man who was looking at her with twisted lasciviousness.

The dwarves wanted to do something, even though they were extremely frightened of the three people; Gimli couldn't resist any longer and stood beside the elf, both with determined gazes directed toward the Transcendent.

Thrain didn't take long to join them.

Gloin was half-disabled to one side, but seemed to share the sentiment.

"HAHAHAHA! Are you crazy?"

"Maxim… don't overdo it," Raymond warned. "We still need them."

The one who received the words rolled his eyes. In one of them, a terrifying scar was especially visible, and those who received his gaze along with that laughter took a step back at the same time.

Celestia swallowed hard but tried to stay strong.

Meanwhile, Cassian observed everything with interest.

"I guess from time to time it's not bad to do it…"

He took a short step, but one that immediately brought him to the front of the action.

Maxim, who was about to pass by the dwarves arrogantly and grab the elf, stopped.

He recognized this man.

Although elves were his weak spot, that human woman who left with this man wasn't bad either, especially that arrogant expression of hers or her previous innocent act.

He passed his tongue over his lips, as if savoring the memory of Xingyue.

He looked at Cassian with caution; he understood that he wasn't necessarily stronger than him, so he took a step back and, with a kind smile, tried to speak with him.

But he wasn't going to give him the chance; he was not interested in what he might say.

A head rolled without precaution.

Tump, tump.

Silence.

Raymond looked incredulously at the floor with his subordinate's head. The other hooded person, whose name we do not know, remained there, without panicking, serene.

A murmur escaped Cassian's lips, as if he didn't agree with what he had just done.

"Too easy… I let him go too easily."

The boss took a step back. Fear. He knew Maxim's strength, and although he himself was proud of the state he had achieved, he knew his own strength was not very different from his companion's.

"Thirty seconds," Cassian said, looking fixedly at the eyes behind the hood with laziness. "It's the time I give you to flee."

Raymond didn't think about it for a second; he turned around and disappeared quickly. The other person stayed there, as if they didn't want to flee or didn't see the urgency in doing so.

"Aren't you going to run?"

The figure shook its head, and we heard it for the first time:

"I don't think it makes sense to do so."

And she was not wrong. The thirty seconds passed and Raymond, who was quite far away, suddenly stopped, clutching his heart in pain; a pain that would not last long, because he would drop dead quickly.

Cassian observed the hooded woman for a moment.

"You're smart."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because you realized that the only way I would consider not killing you is if you stay and explain who you are."

The figure shook its head.

"I'm not that smart. I just assumed that, even if I try to flee, you wouldn't have any trouble killing me, so it was useless to try."

He shifted his gaze at her words, as if it were no longer necessary to pay attention to her, knowing she wouldn't try anything.

As for Xingyue, she was still rolling around in the sheets; but as if she had realized that quite a bit of time had already passed, she stood up startled.

She looked at the bed with guilt and reluctance, stored everything in her space, and changed quickly to go look for her master.

And she arrived just in time for the end of things.

Celestia, upon seeing her, began to cry inconsolably and threw herself onto her; though from time to time she cast curious glances toward Cassian.

Xingyue could only comfort her with resignation, looking for help with her eyes.

But then it was heard:

"Xingyue, I have to go," Cassian already knew he had to return to Demor soon.

The one with celestial eyes lifted her gaze fixed on her master, as if he were abandoning her.

"Don't make those eyes," he looked at the dwarves and toward the elf who was looking at him as if he were her savior. "To me, they don't matter, Xingyue," those cold words broke his image a bit, "but I feel that you wouldn't like it if something happens to them."

She lowered her gaze. There was nothing she wanted more than to be with him, but it was true that they had treated her well… For a moment she almost said out loud: "not like those elves", but remembering the embarrassment she stopped quickly, shot a piercing glare at Celestia as if to blame her for being deceived, and then looked at that old pervert who wasn't worth helping.

Then Cassian interrupted her:

"Nix wants to consume this world. And this," pointing to the dead body and the person who stood there in silence, "seem to have come at someone's request."

"But… is it really necessary for me to stay? They can come with us! Besides, since when do we pay attention to what Nix wants to do with a world?"

His expression darkened. She seemed to realize that her master had grown fond of this place.

"It's your decision."

"Can I go see you or will you come see me, right?"

"Mmm, I'll tell you where I am all the time. They call me Cassian Varkas now; remember it, Xingyue."

She nodded, understanding, while a big smile appeared on the face of the youngest of the sisters at those words. Although knowing about him all the time was not the same as being with him all the time, she guessed she would have to accept.

With those words his figure vanished, and the hooded person who had been forgotten finally pulled back what covered the face.
