One man, taking on the entire Spider-Society?
What kind of joke was this? Who did he think he was—Superman?
The Neighbors from parallel worlds were good-natured, but they weren't spineless. Peter's earlier display of sovereignty had already left them feeling a bit sour.
Now, hearing him dismiss them with such blatant contempt, that stubborn "Spidey" streak in their hearts flared up.
"Listen, bro, even if you're the version of 'us' from this universe..."
The youngest and most hot-headed, Neighbor #1, was the first to ignite. He was itching to teach Peter a lesson. "I think I need to show you the actual gap between a regular guy and a Spider-Man!"
With a flick of his wrist, a strand of webbing shot straight toward Peter's face! He wanted to humble this arrogant "Old Me" and show him that Spider-Men were not to be trifled with.
However, what happened next made the three Neighbors' eyes nearly pop out of their sockets.
Facing the lightning-fast projectile, Peter didn't even bother to raise a hand. He simply... tilted his head slightly to the side.
The webbing whistled past, missing him by a hair's breadth.
"I gave you my advice," Peter said, his voice as calm as if he were reciting a well-known mathematical formula. "But if you insist on challenging me... I don't mind giving you a small lesson."
The moment the words left his lips—
Vroom—!!!
Inside the heads of the three Neighbors, their Spider-Sense went into a frantic overdrive!
Extreme Danger!
The warning was so intense that for a moment, all three felt a splitting headache. Under the influence of this visceral instinct, they moved in near-perfect synchronization.
Though it was their first time fighting together, their shared Spider-nature made their coordination terrifyingly seamless.
Neighbor #1 let out a low shout and lunged like a predatory leopard, attempting to pin Peter down with close-quarters grappling.
Simultaneously, Neighbor #2 fired a rapid barrage of webbing from both wrists, sealing off Peter's escape routes from all directions and creating a sticky zone on the ground to restrict his movement.
Neighbor #3, the scruffiest but most physically powerful, leaped into the air and attached a web line to the Empire State Building's lightning rod. Using the terrifying momentum of a pendulum swing, he launched a flying kick powerful enough to bend structural steel.
Perfect coordination! A total lockdown from above, below, and the center!
Such an assault would have neutralized almost any supervillain they had ever faced. But Peter's expression remained as unruffled as a still pond. Even Gwen and Felicia behind him didn't look the least bit worried.
After all, if their symbiotes didn't feel threatened by these three, why would Peter?
Sure enough, Peter moved.
He didn't retreat. Instead, he stepped forward to meet Neighbor #1's fist. To the boy's utter shock, Peter's hand blurred, catching his right wrist in a vice-like grip.
Then... Peter swung him.
With one hand, Peter lifted Neighbor #1 and used him as a human shield. He spun the boy around his body, perfectly blocking every incoming strand of webbing with Neighbor #1's own torso.
"Holy shit!" Neighbor #1 managed one cry of indignation before realizing the nightmare wasn't over.
After intercepting the webs, Peter's arm muscles bunched, and he hurled the "human weapon" directly at the high-speed flying kick of Neighbor #3!
Boom!
A heavy, muffled thud echoed. The two unfortunates collided in mid-air and went tumbling off the roof of the Empire State Building in a tangled heap.
This horrifying display of power left even the veteran Neighbor #2 momentarily paralyzed. He'd seen a lot of crazy things in his time, but this was a first.
In that split second of hesitation, Peter vanished.
Soru!
The Spider-Sense screamed again. Neighbor #2 instinctively threw up a guard, but it was futile. A casual punch from Peter—even without any active "modes"—was more than twice the strength of a standard Spider-Man. How was he supposed to block that?
His crossed arms were smashed aside instantly. Then came a crushing sense of suffocation.
By the time the other two Neighbors crawled back up to the roof, they were greeted by the sight of Neighbor #2 being held by the throat, lifted effortlessly off the ground by Peter's single hand.
Peter turned back to the bruised and battered duo, a "nuclear-warm" smile on his face.
"So?" he asked. "Want to try another round?"
The air seemed to freeze. How can he be this strong? He isn't even a Spider-Man!
Despite their confusion, the three didn't give up. For one, Spider-Men never quit. For another, this was their mission! In their minds, if they didn't take Peter down and ensure the Canon Event proceeded, the entire universe would collapse.
Neighbor #2 let out a strained roar. He began firing webbing frantically at Peter's face while simultaneously wrapping his legs around Peter's waist in a desperate "Old Tree Roots" lock.
"Go... now!" he wheezed.
Seeing him risk his life, the other two threw caution to the wind and charged. But before they could land a hit, they saw something even more bizarre...
The webs fired point-blank at Peter's face... passed right through him?!
It was the Elementalization provided by his Electro-genetics.
"I can give you guys a one-handed handicap," Peter said with a smirk, "but I'm not letting you shoot me in the face."
He crooked a finger at them provocatively. Gritting their teeth, they rushed him again. They used every trick in their book, their teamwork flawless, yet Peter parried every strike with just his free hand.
Finally, after Neighbor #2 had turned purple and the other two had taken a dozen hits, they found an opening! Neighbor #3 forced a grapple from behind, creating a "Man-on-Man" sandwich that left Peter's front exposed.
Neighbor #1 let out a guttural roar, channeling every ounce of his strength into his right fist! A massive "Face-Breaking Punch" tore through the air with a sonic boom, aimed directly at Peter's jaw.
He was certain this would be the K.O.
The punch landed flush.
But Peter... didn't fly back. He didn't even wobble. A pitch-black, metallic sheen appeared over his skin, absorbing the impact perfectly.
It was Armament Haki.
