Chapter 154 - Is This the "Great" S.H.I.E.L.D. You Raised?

After trading a few more jabs with Tony, the rest of the operation was handled with cold, clinical efficiency.

Peter and Tony pulled an all-nighter, categorizing every scrap of evidence from Pierce's files into a report that would shake the foundations of the global order.

The next morning, Peter utilized his absolute authority as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. to issue a Mandatory Recall Order.

Every agent, regardless of rank or location, was ordered to abandon their current mission and assemble immediately at the Triskelion in Washington, D.C. (the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters).

While the agents were scrambling to assemble, Peter initiated a secure video call with the President.

"Peter, what is this about?" The President looked visibly annoyed. He had been forced to cancel a high-profile diplomatic visit just for this call, throwing his entire week into chaos.

Peter just offered a pleasant smile. "Mr. President, I'd like to invite you to witness the results of my tenure as Director of S.H.I.E.L.D."

The President cursed internally—This kid is a psychopath!—but maintained a polite facade. "Is that so? Then I look forward to it."

The Triskelion: Grand Briefing Hall

The vast hall was packed. Thousands of agents stood shoulder-to-shoulder, their faces a mix of confusion and unease.

Nick Fury, the former Director, was among them. He had been specifically "invited" back by Peter. Fury's mood was a storm of conflicting emotions.

He'd initially assumed Peter had run into trouble and needed an experienced hand to steady the ship. He'd even prepared a mental script on how to regain his influence and show these rookies who the real "Anchor" of S.H.I.E.L.D. was.

But as he looked around, he realized the atmosphere was all wrong.

CLANG!

The massive alloy doors of the hall slammed shut with a heavy, final thud. The sound didn't feel like a door closing; it felt like a trap snapping shut.

As murmurs of concern rippled through the crowd, Peter walked onto the stage, flanked by Tony Stark and Captain America. Tony adjusted the projector, displaying the live feed of the President's pale face on the main screen.

Fury's heart sank. A cold premonition took root in his gut.

Peter stepped up to the microphone, his voice amplified throughout the hall. "Good morning, everyone."

His gaze swept across the sea of agents—some confused, some expectant. A playful, dangerous smile touched his lips.

"I called you here today to announce some very good news."

Everyone held their breath. Fury narrowed his one good eye. The President leaned closer to his screen. Peter paused for dramatic effect, then let five words fall like a guillotine:

"Hail Hydra."

Time seemed to freeze.

The hall became so silent you could hear a pin drop. A small group of agents looked blankly at each other, their brains not even registering what "Hydra" was in this context.

But for many others, their expressions shifted from confusion to a strange, suppressed excitement. Did the boss not mention Peter Parker was one of us? Is it finally time? Did Project Insight finish early? Wait... where is Secretary Pierce?

Meanwhile, the "clean" agents—Fury, Hill, Coulson, Natasha—nearly jumped out of their seats. They stared at Peter in absolute horror.

Peter is Hydra? No, that's impossible! If he was, why is Cap just standing there? Has he been brainwashed too?

"Motherf—!" Fury's brain stalled. He reverted to his old habit of lecturing. "Peter! This is a very sick joke!"

The President, looking like he might faint, stammered, "Director Parker... what... what is the meaning of this?"

Natasha and the others remained silent, their hands hovering near their hidden holsters.

Peter, however, just maintained a chilling, half-smile. As the silence stretched, the "clean" group slowly began to notice something terrifying.

They looked around the room. In a hall of thousands, only a handful—fewer than a hundred people—had stood up in shock or outrage.

The rest? They were sitting still, their eyes gleaming with a mixture of suspicion, tension, and cold, predatory calculation.

A ridiculous, horrifying realization exploded in the minds of Fury and his loyalists. Is it possible that... except for us... everyone else in S.H.I.E.L.D. is...

Before they could spiral into madness, Peter's voice rang out again. This time, there was no playfulness—only a bone-deep, icy wrath.

"Nick Fury, look at the 'great' agency you've raised!"

"This is your pride and joy! S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

"Is this the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division... or is it the Super Secret Hydra Integration and Distribution Center?!"

HUM—

A second screen flared to life, displaying a massive, scrolling list of names.

The hall erupted. The Hydra agents, realized they hadn't been called for a victory party—they had been called for an execution.

"It's a trap!" "Kill them!" "Break out!"

In an instant, hundreds of agents reached for concealed weapons, ready to turn the hall into a slaughterhouse to make their escape.

"Hmph!"

Peter let out a cold snort. A terrifying pressure erupted from his body.

Conqueror's Haki swept through the hall like a physical tsunami.
