Episode 8: Chaos Unleashed
Kevin's eyelids fluttered open. The world spun in nauseating circles, the bitter aftertaste of the sedative still coating his tongue. The Mythical Matrix on his chest pulsed erratically, like a failing heartbeat, pushing against the toxin with bursts of white-blue energy. He groaned and forced himself upright, concrete dust and dried fruit pulp clinging to his clothes.
"Guys…" he rasped, voice hoarse.
One by one, the crew stirred.
Wyatt was closest, clutching the side of his neck where the dart had hit. "Kev? What the hell happened? One second we're standing, next I'm tasting copper and nightmares."
Nathan sat up slowly, rubbing his temples. His illusions flickered weakly around him as he tried to clear the lingering green mist. "Those darts… they were laced with something from the Half-Seal. Suppressed our Glimmers. I feel like I got hit by a truck made of bad decisions."
Peter was already on his feet, rolling his shoulders. His super durability had burned through most of the sedative faster than the others. "Told you that Aether bastard was trouble. Bringing that fruit psycho back opened the damn door."
Derek (Volt) helped Ferrum up. Blue sparks crackled across the electrician's arms as he purged the last of the toxin. "My grid sense is going haywire. Whatever came through that rift… it's messing with reality itself."
Ferrum Ironfist flexed his gauntleted hands, the air around him heavy with metallic tension. "I have felt this distortion before. In my broken timeline. It ends in annihilation."
Before anyone could formulate a plan, the air tore apart again with a sound like shattering glass amplified by a thousand screams. A jagged violet rift spilled unstable light into the warehouse.
Out stepped Khaos Hyde and Poison.
Khaos Hyde was a towering eight-foot nightmare — jet-black and dark-gold marbled skin rippling with chaotic veins, glowing red eyes burning with pure insanity, and short dreadlocks writhing as if alive. Chaos energy crackled around him like black lightning mixed with golden fire.
Beside him, Poison moved with eerie grace. Seven feet tall, sleek gray and royal-blue skin, completely faceless except for two glowing white slits. Toxic green vapor constantly leaked from his body, melting anything it touched.
Khaos Hyde threw his head back and laughed — a deafening, multi-layered roar that warped the sound waves around them. "Freedom tastes like terror! And look — the Rampager's little pack is already awake for the party!"
Poison tilted his faceless head, voice smooth and dripping with venom. "The Half-Seal was so… boring. Thank you for the distraction. Now we get to break everything."
Kevin's circuits flared brighter as the Rampager mantle surged in response to the threat. "You're not escaping again. We're sending you both back!"
The battle exploded with savage intensity.
Khaos Hyde charged first, each step cracking the floor and flipping gravity in erratic patches. He swung a massive chaos-infused fist at Kevin. The Rampager met it head-on — white-blue destructive force colliding with raw chaos in a cataclysmic boom that blew out the remaining warehouse walls. Kevin was hurled backward, skidding across the ground, blood trickling from his ears.
Wyatt rushed in with his metal pipe, swinging wildly at Poison. The faceless Wrathborn simply touched the pipe — it dissolved into sizzling green sludge in seconds. Poison countered with a backhand that sent toxic mist spraying. Wyatt barely dodged, but some caught his arm, burning through his sleeve.
"Wyatt!" Kevin roared, pushing himself up.
Derek (Volt) lit up the battlefield. He unleashed a storm of controlled lightning arcs that chained toward Poison. The electricity was absorbed into Poison's body, only for the villain to redirect it back as supercharged toxic bolts. Derek dove behind cover, but one bolt grazed his leg, leaving a smoking wound.
Ferrum Ironfist stepped up like a living fortress. He ripped every scrap of metal and rebar from the warehouse structure, forging them into a swirling barrage of iron spears and blades. They rained down on Khaos Hyde. The chaos giant laughed maniacally as the iron warped and melted in mid-air, but a few still struck true, drawing dark blood.
Nathan wove his strongest illusions yet — creating an entire army of phantom crew members mixed with nightmarish visions of the Half-Seal's horrors. Khaos Hyde smashed through most of them, but the psychological assault momentarily slowed him. "Pretty lies! I'll turn them into REAL chaos!"
Peter became the unbreakable heart of the defense. His Iron Tyrant mantle fully active, skin turned to living metal, he tanked a direct chaos blast from Khaos Hyde that sent shockwaves through the entire block. Super durability pushed to its absolute limit, he didn't fall. Instead, he grabbed Khaos by one massive arm and used the giant's own momentum to slam him into Poison, disrupting their deadly synergy.
"You two freaks hit like angry toddlers," Peter growled, spitting blood.
The fight raged on. Poison tried to flood the area with a wide toxic cloud, but Ferrum created an iron dome to shield the crew while Derek supercharged the air to burn some of the poison away. Kevin and Khaos traded devastating blows — each collision warping space and cracking the ground deeper.
Just as the crew started gaining ground, the Aether Guard ripped back through a flickering portal. His silver robes were torn, his helmet cracked, and he still dragged a chained, screaming Applehead behind him.
"The tear is expanding!" the Aether Guard shouted. "These two madmen must be returned to the Half before the Garden Behind the Fence feels their corruption!"
Applehead thrashed wildly. "Let me join the fun! I want to play with the Rampager!"
Khaos Hyde's red eyes glowed brighter with delight. "The warden himself! Come join the party!"
Poison unleashed a concentrated poison spear toward the Aether Guard. Kevin intercepted it with a destructive wave, but the effort left him breathing hard.
Peter stood shoulder to shoulder with Kevin, battered but defiant. "We're not dying here. Not to these clowns."
The crew — Kevin, Wyatt, Nathan, Peter, Derek, and Ferrum — formed a battered line beside the wounded Aether Guard. The two escaped Wrathborn advanced again, chaos and poison radiating from them in deadly waves.
But on the horizon, ominous white-blue lights began rising into the night sky. The White-Blue Heart Pillar had detected the massive Glimmer disturbance. Enforcers were coming.
Kevin felt the Mythical Matrix burn hotter than ever. The Rampager mantle whispered promises of greater destruction… and greater danger.
They were caught between mad prisoners, a broken prison warden, and the approaching might of the Pillar.
