I stormed back into my office, still pissed off from the dressing-down Captain Graves had just given me.
The door slammed behind me harder than I intended. That bastard had chewed me out like I was some rookie, going on about, "reckless decisions and protecting my team."
Yeah, I made a call out there. A fucking bold one but guess what? It worked.
We got Poison, we had a solid lead on Lucifer and no officers died. Two got banged up, sure, but they would live, it's part of the jobs fucking hazard... He should have been kissing my ass, not riding it.
I muttered under my breath as I shrugged off my vest and gun holster, tossing them onto the chair. "What the fuck was he expecting? It was a raid for Christ's sake. Of course there would be casualties but none of mine died. We still won."
I dropped heavily into my desk chair and ran a hand over my face as a slow smirk crept across my lips. "Fuck it. We did great."
