Blood?
Actually, she had some suspicions in her heart, and added to Kruus's unusual behavior these past few days—the teacher would pull her into the room whenever it was time to feed her blood—she hadn't cared at first, but looking back, it seemed more and more likely.
"System, is there anything special about my blood to an Evil God?"
Asagami Fujino reached out to the System, which she hadn't spoken to in a long time. With the talents of Migeiko and Taskmaster, she relied on the System less and less. If not for buying things, she would have almost forgotten it even existed.
"To the Host: the Host's blood has many uses. For an Evil God, it reduces the world's resistance toward them while simultaneously strengthening their power." The familiar synthesized electronic voice sounded somewhat nostalgic to Fujino's ears now.
So that was it. If the System hadn't said anything, Fujino wouldn't have known her blood "173" had such a use. It seemed she needed to find time to understand herself better in the future.
In that case, was the reason Cthulhu disliked Nyarko because she didn't want Nyarko joining in and potentially preventing her from enjoying the blood alone? Fujino couldn't be sure for now; she would have to find time to confirm it later.
Beside her, Nyarko looked suspiciously at Cthulhu and Fujino. Her intuition told her they were hiding something from her, but she couldn't guess what it was.
"I'll definitely find out!" Nyarko said to herself.
"Why are you guys here?"
Once things settled down slightly, Ryusei couldn't wait to go find October.
"On a mission, of course," October smiled, extending a hand. "I didn't expect your strength to improve so quickly in just a few days. Let's keep improving together."
Ryusei looked warily at October's outstretched hand, thinking: to shake or not to shake? He felt there was a trick, but if he didn't shake it, wouldn't he look like a coward?
Ultimately, Ryusei chose to shake it. To the naked eye, the space around their joined hands visibly distorted slightly.
A strange look flashed in October's eyes. This guy's strength was growing even faster and greater than he imagined. However, was there something wrong with his development path? Why was he a meat shield?
On the other side, Ryusei's heart was about to explode. Was it really necessary to use the Seventh Sense just for a handshake?! Feeling the scorching heat on his hand, Ryusei felt like he was actually going to be cooked. If not for the healing magic circle Fujino had placed in his body earlier and forgotten to remove, Ryusei felt he would be medium-well by now.
"So you're here!" Director Frank suddenly appeared. Ryusei and October finally let go. Ryusei looked at his bright red palm; any longer and it really would have been cooked.
October acted as if nothing had happened and looked at Director Frank. "Does Director Frank have something for us?"
"Oh, it's like this." Director Frank looked at October and at February and March, who had been silently watching the show behind him. "We need to confirm which branch you are from. I'm sorry, but we can't afford to be careless in this situation."
"It's fine, we understand." October expressed his understanding and smiled. "We are police officers from the 13th Street Branch. Our identities are on the computer records. After this happened, our defensive line was broken by those zombies. While taking refuge with everyone, we got separated from the group because of the zombies. We saw the gathered zombies heading this way while we were taking cover, so we came to help."
After speaking, October, March, and February all took out police IDs from their jacket pockets and handed them to Frank. Ryusei watched silently, not exposing their identities as the Black Moon Iron Cavalry. Exposing them now would be foolish and thankless. No one knew when the next wave of zombies would attack; Ryusei didn't think the people here could hold out on their own. Although he could fight his way out alone with his strength, he couldn't abandon his brothers and the many survivors. So, letting October and the others stay was undoubtedly for the best; their help would make things much easier.
Although Ryusei could ask Asagami Fujino for help—and in his view, if the unfathomable Fujino acted, this so-called disaster wouldn't even be worth mentioning—he didn't think he could convince her to help. The difficulty was just too high.
"No problem. Sorry for the trouble." Frank returned the police IDs to October and the others. Doing this was sometimes very embarrassing; after all, they had just saved him, and now he had to check their IDs. No one would like that.
"It's fine." October smiled slightly and put the ID away. As the world's number one assassin organization, forging identities was a simple task for the Black Moon Iron Cavalry. If they were easily seen through, how could they survive?
Night fell. The sun went down, and the bright moon rose.
Asagami Fujino and the others had come down from the roof early. There was a good show to watch tonight.
Releasing her mental power, she directly locked onto someone. By this time, Director Frank had already taken October to see that old man from a certain fast-food brand in the basement. It had been a while; they had likely already injected the suppressant obtained from the old man into Ajie's body. Now they were discussing next steps with Frank. As for Ryusei and the others, they were with Monica. Just like the original plot, he was getting his prophecy from Monica. But what was the use? Now that Ryusei and the others' fates had been disrupted by Fujino, Monica couldn't predict the fates of Ryusei and March at all. February's fate was still predictable because Fujino hadn't touched it; his fate was still the same as the original, dying at the hands of the Fallen Angels. Although he would be resurrected, that wasn't the point. The point was that the person Fujino was looking for was about to appear.
When she first read the manga, Fujino felt it was strange. In the early stages, she always thought the Black Moon Iron Cavalry was very powerful. It wasn't until the end that she realized that except for March, April, September, October, Cang Yue, and Xuan Yue, the others were basically secondary characters. February had a few more scenes, but he became a secondary character later too. On the other hand, January had managed to survive from the beginning until the very end. How should she put it? You big brothers and sisters of the Black Moon Iron Cavalry actually couldn't compare to a Little Loli?
"Oh, it's starting."
In her mental perspective, someone quietly sneaked into the room where Ajie was kept.
