For a few precious minutes, the world was wonderfully ordinary...
...the stew was warm.
...the bread was fresh.
...Delly had somehow found honey for the tea.
...and Lady Elena, despite being the future Queen of Londermany, insisted on helping clear the dishes...
"You really don't need to," Sera laughed, as she stood to help Delly collect the plates.
With few staff in the house, Sera was used to lending a helping hand now and again. Not to mention that she used to spend time with the staff as a child, because she never had many friends…
"You're the guest."
"And you're recovering," Elena countered, picking up a bowl of leftovers. "You've had a long journey today, and I've intruded. The least I can do is help out."
Sera didn't want to admit it, but she was exhausted to the very bone. Traveling since sunrise, cleaning her house and then having unexpected visitors---
Yeah---
She had a bed upstairs, screaming her name!
