Chapter 122 - Rin Aokawa: Go, Nine-Tails!

In the Alola region, somewhere deep within a snowy mountain range, a fox-like Pokémon with nine tails was quietly lying on the ground. Opposite it stood a bird glowing with an icy blue light. The two seemed to be conversing about something. A moment later, the icy-blue bird stretched out its claws. In them,

it held a spherical object that vaguely resembled a Wishing Star. But the wind on the mountain was too strong, and from a distance it was impossible to hear what they were saying. Then, as a gust of snow swept past, both Pokémon vanished once more.

In Tianyuan Base, the afternoon sunlight shone lazily onto Rin Aokawa's face. He was enjoying the warmth with a cheap cup of coffee in hand, looking utterly relaxed. But the peace didn't last long. Suddenly,

a shrill alarm rang out across the city. The abrupt sound nearly made him drop his coffee. Once he recovered, Rin Aokawa frowned. This wasn't the first time he had heard the emergency siren. He knew very well what it meant—ferocious beasts were attacking the city.

But three times in a single month? That made him feel distinctly uneasy.

Originally, he had no intention of stepping in. He thought this would be like the previous incident, that humanity might still be able to repel the beast tide on its own. At least…

he hoped that was the case.

At this moment, to the west of Tianyuan Base, a giganticCrack had opened in the sky. Deep within it came wave after wave of beastly roars, enough to make one's scalp tingle. Above Tianyuan Base, on a huge steel warship suspended in the air, Ling Kong stood at the front, silver hair fluttering in the wind. Beside him was a group of Pokemons, all staring grimly at theCrack.

"Brother Ling Kong, this one doesn't look easy to handle…"

The one who spoke was an old man standing beside Ling Kong. He wore a Tang suit and casually rolled two shining walnuts in his hand. Ling Kong was a Guardian Deity-level Beast Tamer, yet this old man addressed him as "brother," and stood shoulder to shoulder with him. It was obvious who he was. This was Tang Yu—also a Guardian Deity-level Beast Tamer.

"Yeah, Brother Tang," Ling Kong replied, clenching his fist without realizing it. "This space rift doesn't look like a Catastrophe-level one. It might be even higher."

The memory of the last Catastrophe-level rift still lingered vividly in his heart. He had almost lost his life during that incident. If this one was even above Catastrophe-level, then the danger was obvious. At that moment,

he couldn't help but think of the mysterious powerhouse from last time. If that person were still here, then perhaps thisCrack could be handled with ease.

Ling Kong's thoughts drifted, staring blankly ahead. He didn't even hear what Tang Yu was saying anymore.

Boom!

A deafening sound snapped him back to reality. Ling Kong's eyes sharpened, and he shouted, "Silver Sky War Dragon!"

In the next instant, a Western dragon appeared. Its size had clearly grown. It was no longer only fifty meters long, but now nearly sixty. The scales on its body, once like plated bronze, now carried a faint golden sheen. If one didn't look carefully, it was almost impossible to notice.

"Oh ho, Brother Ling," Tang Yu narrowed his eyes and sized up the beast. "Only a few days, and your Silver Sky War Dragon has grown stronger again, hasn't it?"

There was no hiding the envy in his tone.

The moment the Silver Sky War Dragon appeared, it let out a furious roar, instantly driving away all the nearby wild beasts.

Roar!

But just as its roar faded, another terrifying roar answered from inside theCrack. It was as if the creature within was responding—with a trace of disdain.

Then both Tang Yu and Ling Kong saw a pair of enormous, furry hands appear at the edge of theCrack. Those giant hands suddenly tore outward with force, and the already huge space rift was instantly ripped open even wider.

Then—

A gigantic ape with fiery red fur climbed out.

The moment it appeared, both Tang Yu and Ling Kong's expressions changed drastically. It stood nearly a hundred meters tall. Clearly, this had already surpassed Guardian Deity-level. It was no exaggeration to say this beast was probably even more terrifying than the one from before.

"Gale Wolf!"

Tang Yu no longer held anything back. He immediately connected to his Beast Space. In a flash of light, a huge wolf with cyan-green fur appeared. Its body length exceeded forty meters, and its height reached nearly thirty. It was also a Guardian Deity-level beast—Wind-type plus Fighting-type.

"Silver Sky War Dragon, Spatial Lockdown!"

"Gale Wolf, Ripping Tornado!"

Ling Kong and Tang Yu exchanged a glance, then simultaneously gave commands to their beasts with astonishing coordination.

The Silver Sky War Dragon roared, and as its wings beat, currents of spatial power condensed together. An invisible spatial cage formed around the giant ape. At the same time, Gale Wolf let out a long howl. Instantly, endless wind power gathered, and a towering tornado that seemed to connect heaven and earth formed, charging straight at the ape. Its destructive force was so great that it carved trenches more than ten meters deep into the ground as it passed.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

The red-furred giant ape responded instantly. It pounded its chest in fury, then unleashed a roar toward Ling Kong and the others. An invisible soundwave surged out, directly blowing Gale Wolf's tornado apart. At the same time, with that same roar, the spatial prison around it shattered as well.

Then, with a powerful push of its hind legs, the giant ape launched itself forward, leaping straight toward Gale Wolf as if to snap its neck in one grab.

Sensing danger, Gale Wolf immediately used its extraordinary speed to evade.

But the ape was frighteningly intelligent. Its hand, which had been swinging through the air, suddenly changed direction and seized Gale Wolf's tail. Then, as if it were just tossing around a chick, it swung the wolf in a wide circle before hurling it directly toward the Silver Sky War Dragon.

In the next second, the two beasts collided violently and rolled more than a hundred meters away. By the time they stopped, both were heavily injured and unable to get back up.

At that moment, everyone's faces turned pale. Fear filled their hearts, yet all they could do was watch death approach step by step.

Then—

Something unexpected happened.

The giant ape's arm was suddenly struck by a shockwave. The force was so immense that even its huge body couldn't help but stagger backward.

Only then did everyone snap out of it and look toward the direction the shockwave had come from.

What they saw was—

A nearly hundred-meter-tall orange fox.

Its nine thick tails floated behind it in the air.

And atop that terrifying beast's head, there seemed to stand a vague human figure.

"Go, Nine-Tails!"
