Regarding Mirai Zenin—
Having only met him twice, Kento Nanami had formed a clear impression:
Mysterious. Powerful. Cold-blooded…
And above all—dangerous.
The first time they met was when Suguru Geto came to Jujutsu High to declare war.
Mirai had spoken of cooperating with Geto—yet in the blink of an eye, he killed one of Geto's Grade 1 curse users.
After that, he casually ordered a Grade 1 sorcerer from his own clan to cut off his own arm.
What was terrifying was that the sorcerer obeyed without hesitation.
The second time they met was during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons in Tokyo.
That overwhelming shikigami, blotting out the sky, still lingered vividly in Nanami's mind.
"I don't doubt you have the strength to kill him."
Nanami looked at Satoru Gojo with a serious expression.
"If you intend to kill him without considering the consequences, then I have nothing to say."
"But even if you uproot the Zenin clan entirely…"
"…the jujutsu world will fall into chaos."
Nanami adjusted his glasses and continued in a low voice:
"The orthodox sorcerer world would completely descend into disorder—everyone would be on edge."
"More than 90% of sorcerers would see you as a heretic."
"As something no different from a curse—killing freely on a whim."
"Including me… I would think the same."
"—Tch."
Gojo toyed with the bandage at the corner of his eye, a killing intent flickering in his blue gaze.
"What if that guy is working together with cursed spirits?"
"Evidence."
Nanami's answer was immediate and blunt.
"Strong, irrefutable evidence."
"He's the head of one of the Three Great Clans—a figure of that level…"
"If you try to build a case using something like White Zetsu—a curse that can be crushed easily—no sorcerer would be convinced."
"Just like how the one you're protecting isn't only Itadori."
At the mention of that—
Gojo let out a quiet sigh.
"Strong evidence, huh… what a hassle."
After a moment of silence, he changed the subject.
"That boy—Yoshino…"
"His mother died because of Sukuna's finger. Did you tell Yuji?"
Nanami lifted his newspaper again and replied calmly:
"No. He would only feel unnecessary guilt."
Gojo leaned back, resting his hands behind his head, looking much more relaxed.
"Sending you to guide Yuji really was a great decision on my part."
"So, where's Sukuna's finger?"
Nanami replied coldly:
"It's already been handed over to the higher-ups."
"If I had given it to you, you would've just made him eat it."
When it came to Yuji Itadori—a student he acknowledged—Nanami showed clear concern.
"Is it really alright to let him participate in the exchange event?"
"The Kyoto principal, Gakuganji, belongs to the conservative faction."
"If Itadori shows himself now… the higher-ups might target him again."
"No problem~"
Gojo smiled faintly.
"That old man doesn't have the time to worry about something like that right now."
At the entrance to the designated battlefield at Jujutsu High:
Maki, Fushiguro, Kugisaki, Inumaki, and Panda—
Four humans and one panda had already gathered.
Maki glanced at the time on her phone and frowned.
"That idiot White Zetsu… don't tell me he's still sleeping?"
He was never on time for training either—so her certainty wasn't surprising.
"What should we do? Should I go wake him?" Panda suggested.
"Oh my~"
A teasing voice rang out.
"Are the Tokyo students here to welcome us?"
With Mai's provocation, the six Kyoto students arrived.
"Isn't Okkotsu here?"
Aoi Todo looked slightly disappointed.
Standing around 150 cm tall, with two upright golden tufts of hair, the petite witch-like girl Momo Nishimiya held a broom as she sized up the unfamiliar first-years.
"If Okkotsu isn't here, fine…"
"But sending two first-years—are you going easy on us?"
The fully mechanized Mechamaru spoke.
With long bangs hanging down the sides of his face, Noritoshi Kamo narrowed his eyes and countered:
"Mechamaru, age does not determine a sorcerer's strength."
"Especially Fushiguro, who inherited the Zenin clan's technique."
Nearby, the blue-haired swordswoman Kasumi Miwa looked around eagerly, searching for her idol, Gojo.
"Students."
The Kyoto instructor, semi–Grade 1 sorcerer Utahime Iori scanned the area and frowned.
"Where's that blindfolded idiot?"
"Yaaawn—"
"Looks like everyone's here. Guess I'm not late after all."
Following behind Mirai, White Zetsu finally arrived, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
"Idiot! It's about to start—get over here!"
Maki snapped at him.
The Kyoto students examined White Zetsu—his pale complexion and faint cursed aura making them frown.
After years of fighting curses…
Being expected to treat one as a comrade was hard to accept.
"Sorry I'm late!"
Just as White Zetsu took his place, Gojo's loud voice echoed from afar.
"Hey!"
"Kugisaki! Fushiguro! White Zetsu!"
Following behind him, Yuji waved with a bright smile.
Bai Jue froze for a moment.
"Pink-haired gorilla? Weren't you dead?"
Yuji scratched his head apologetically.
"Sorry, White Zetsu. I kept it from you."
Watching Yuji chat with the others, Mirai frowned slightly.
He wasn't surprised Yuji was alive.
Nor was it strange that Kugisaki and Fushiguro didn't react with overwhelming shock.
Even Yuji's altered reappearance—it was all within expectations.
But—
Mirai turned his gaze toward the steps.
There stood Principal Masamichi Yaga…
And beside him, the Kyoto principal, Yoshinobu Gakuganji.
An elderly man, frail, with long white brows and beard, leaning on a wooden cane.
Yet upon seeing Yuji alive—
He was far too calm.
A butterfly effect?
Or has something changed behind the scenes that I don't know about?
Mirai's expression remained composed, but his mind quietly analyzed the situation.
"Hey—"
Maki turned to Gojo.
"Since Yuji's alive, White Zetsu doesn't need to participate anymore, right?"
They originally thought Yuji was dead, so White Zetsu was added to complete the six-person team.
Now that Yuji had returned, Tokyo had one extra member.
Gojo, hands in his pockets, smiled.
"White Zetsu, what do you think?"
Hearing that—
White Zetsu, who had been in the middle of a "reunion scene," immediately turned around, dissatisfied.
"I trained hard for this, you know!"
"And now you're just canceling me? That's a slap in my face!"
Gojo chuckled and looked at Mirai.
"Fake-smile, what about you?"
"Any suggestions?"
Mirai smiled gently.
"Either way is fine. You should decide, Gojo-sensei."
Sensing something, Mirai didn't insist on White Zetsu's participation.
There was more than one way to set up the barrier—
He wanted to see what Gojo was planning.
"Then White Zetsu will participate."
Gojo looked toward Utahime and the others.
"No objections from Kyoto?"
As the student representative, Kamo shook his head.
"You've already sent so many first-years."
"One more participant… is still fair."
A Grade 4-level curse—
Something they could eliminate with a single strike.
No one in Kyoto took White Zetsu seriously.
"Since both sides have no objections—"
Principal Yaga stepped forward and announced:
"The two-day Tokyo–Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event…"
"Day One: Team Battle—Cursed Spirit Extermination Competition!"
"Begin!"
