Synopsis
Aimee had been admiring him from afar until one day, they found themselves sharing a secret that was meant to stay buried. She forced herself to restrain her feelings, but they always slipped through her fingers. Waves of trouble kept pulling her deeper into his world, and though he hated it, she couldn’t help but fall for him even more. He wanted to silence her—by chasing her away or perhaps killing her if she crossed the line. But when they both reached a dead end, like the ends of a knotted rope finally trying to separate, they looked back only to realize they had already become too tangled to break apart. - "How do you want to be killed?" Rayden remarked dangerously like a wolf being little merciful towards the rabbit tangled in haywire with no way to escape. Aimee’s eyes widened as dread crept down her spine. Will she really going to die today? but he did mention that there was no way to deal with it other than death. After long seconds, Aimee blurted out softly, "Will you be gentle?" Rayden tilted his head sideways, staring intently into her doe-like eyes. Fear and hopelessness swirled within them, like a helpless rabbit begging mercy from a wolf. ...

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Clumsy

Berries' Residence

" Aimee dear, after you finish cooking for dinner would you be kind to fold your cousin's clothes too?" Aimee who was almost done cooking for her aunt's family lunch heard her spoken.

Aunt Carmen was looking at her new polished nails as she flaunt her hands in the air wiggling as if to dry the nails quickly.

"Okay Auntie." Aimee replied softly, her back facing her aunt.

Aimee took the pan used for frying to the ceramic sink. Turning the faucet knob on, with clumsy hands she accidentally pushed too much causing the handle loosened and breaking it. Water splashed briskly startling her.

Aimee instinctively brought her hands forward to cover the lever as if it would stop the water from overflowing.

"Aimee!" Aunt Carmen scolding her. "How clumsy could you be! Always misfortune happens when you're around!"

"I'm sorry Auntie Carmen, I didn't mean to break it-" with voice faltered unable to look back at her as she was feeling ashamed for accidentally breaking something again in her Uncle's house.

The mood of her aunt turned sour from feeling good a few minutes ago. "Fix it. I'm not rich to pay for a plumber right now!" she scowled, then turned towards the door walking out and slamming it shut.

Aimee couldn't do anything. She closed her eyes internally cursing herself for being a clumsy and making such mess.

She turned head looking around the kitchen looking for something she could make use of. The kitchen wasn't that big, it has a wooden island counter at the center which contains of spare utensils and other things. She reached for the drawer beside the sink opening it and found a thread tape.

Not knowing what to do, she attached back the valve and used the thread tape around it so it wont loosen and move. 'This would do for the mean time' thought Aimee.

After securing it, she got up and looked down at her wet apron, taking it off as she felt the cold against her skin. The front of her clothes had also gotten soaked.

Not minding the cold, she continued preparing lunch, taking out the cooked meals before stepping out of the kitchen. She noticed her aunt and cousin already sitting at the dining table, waiting for the food to arrive.

"Has your misfortune become so bad that even the mere touch of your hands causes things to break, as if everything around you is affected by your bad luck?." Sofie her cousin, blurted with a smug smile on her face.

Aimee ignored her cousin's words because over the years since she was taken under his Uncle's home, she has gotten used to the treatment she receives from her Uncle's family. Her uncle, her closest blood relative, was gentle and lenient, in stark contrast to his wife Carmen, whose daughter seemed to inherit her spiteful and brash temperament.

"Have you turned deaf too?" Sofie taunted her further.

Aimee leaned forward and carefully placed the food on the table not wanting to have another disaster for the day. She got back and turned to Sofie who is seated just few feet away from where she was standing.

"Cousin, you look beautiful in your dress but people would appreciate you even more if you lessen your liking towards eating onions and try mint leaves instead." Sofie gasped. Was she saying I have a bad breath, the nerve of this bitch.

Sofie was about to rebut when Aimee turned to her aunt, " I will just go to the room Aunt Carmen, to change my clothes as it soaked." then Aimee turned and stepped out.
