Chapter 50 - Chapter 50-18+

"Brother, what are you doing?"

I knew that voice all too well. Startled, I quickly threw the phone back onto the bed.

Turning around, I saw Anuo wearing loose loungewear, her hair damp and cascading over her shoulders, a towel draped around her neck. Her skin was fair and delicate, like milk, and the scent of her youthful body mingled with the fragrance of shower gel, utterly captivating.

"How did you finish so quickly?" Feeling guilty, I blurted out the words without thinking.

"What do you mean, so quickly? My shower?" Anuo asked with a smile.

I cleared my throat softly, trying to mask my embarrassment, then walked past her as if nothing had happened, intending to leave. Suddenly, Anuo asked, "Were you looking for the video?"

Since she already knew, there was no point pretending. I turned back and cut straight to the point: "Yes, I was looking for the video. Where is it?"

Anuo picked up her phone and said, "Something that important—why would I keep it on my phone?" She unlocked it, turned it toward me, and smiled. "See for yourself if you don't believe me."

I glanced at the phone and said coldly, "Where is it hidden? Hand it over."

Anuo chuckled. "Why should I hand it over? It's not like it benefits me."

"What do you want, then?"

Her big eyes sparkled mischievously as she tilted her head up and said, "First, give me a kiss."

I hesitated for a moment, then leaned in.

Her pink lips were like cherry blossom petals, moist and delicate.

Just as I was about to kiss her, I suddenly reached out, pinched her chin, and turned her exquisite little face aside, scoffing, "Cut the act."

I turned to leave, but Anuo asked again, "Do you think I'm a bad girl?"

I glared back at her and retorted, "What do you think?"

Anuo smiled faintly but didn't answer.

I snorted coldly. "You've torn our family apart, and you still have the nerve to ask if you're a bad girl?"

Anuo sat down on the edge of the bed, placed her hands on the mattress, crossed her legs, and said with a smile, "I didn't say anything. Wasn't it all just a misunderstanding? It's not like your mom was pregnant."

As she spoke the last sentence, the corner of her mouth lifted slightly, her smile tinged with unmistakable mockery.

Furious, I stepped forward, grabbed her collar, and shouted, "You can say whatever you want about me, but if you dare insult my mom, I won't hold back."

Anuo tilted her head up, facing me directly. Her bright, sparkling eyes blinked, showing not a trace of fear as she smiled and asked, "What are you going to do?"

Indeed, what could I do to her? If she were a boy, I could slap her or kick her, but she was a girl.

After a tense moment, I slowly released my grip and asked in a low voice, "What do you really want? This family has already accepted you. Why do you have to destroy it? Do you hate us that much?"

Anuo looked at me with a cheerful smile but didn't answer.

I truly despised that smile of hers now. Beneath that innocent, angelic face hid a cunning and sinister demon—the mere thought sent chills down my spine.

I said coldly, "If our family falls apart, I'll never let you go."

"Will you hate me?"

"I'll hate you for the rest of my life."

She still wore that same smiling expression, but perhaps it was my imagination—I thought I caught a fleeting glimpse of sadness in her eyes, gone in an instant. Regardless, I would no longer believe a word she said.

After that, I began visiting my mother's place every few days. If she wasn't home, I would wait outside without calling her.

After several such visits, my mother finally gave in and gave me a spare key, making it even easier for me to come and go as I pleased.

That evening, I was reading in my bedroom when my father quietly slipped in and stood beside me. He hesitated for a long time, his mouth opening and closing, before finally asking uncertainly, "Have you been going to your mother's place often these past few days?"

"Yeah," I admitted without hiding anything, nodding.

"How... how has your mother been lately?" Dad sat down on the bed behind me.

I scratched my cheek, thought for a moment, and said, "Mom hasn't been doing well. She looks completely worn out, doesn't eat properly, and has lost a lot of weight."

A flicker of pain crossed Dad's face. He fell silent for a while, let out a long sigh, and opened his mouth as if to say something, but no words came out.

I could understand his conflicted feelings—wanting Mom to come back, yet unable to untangle the knot in his heart.

"Dad, maybe... if you have time, you could come with me to see Mom."

Dad's brow furrowed tightly. He sighed for a long time, patted my left shoulder gently, said, "Hang in there," and then turned and left the room.

That knot was already tied too tightly. Mom would never reveal the truth, and given Dad's personality, it would be hard for him to let it go.

I sat at my desk, lost in thought. Who was really to blame for things ending up like this?

Was it Anuo's fault?

It seemed so, but not entirely.

Was it Mom's fault?

Mom wasn't at fault at all.

Was it Dad's fault?

For cheating back then and giving birth to Anuo?

Was it my fault?

Maybe it was...

On Sunday, Beibei came home for the holidays. When she heard I'd been visiting Mom often, she insisted on coming with me.

I was so annoyed by her pestering that I decided to take her along. Just as we were about to leave, Mom unexpectedly opened the door and walked in.

I was both surprised and delighted, calling out, "Mom, you're back!" But then I immediately sensed something was wrong. Mom's face was icy, her eyes blazing, her body tense, and her teeth clenched, like a furious beast pushed to its limit.

"Mom, my brother and I were just about to go see you."

Before Beibei could finish speaking, Mom strode over to me, raised her arm, and slapped me hard across the face.

The slap was delivered with full force, and my face burned with pain.

Mom was breathing heavily, her beautiful eyes glaring at me with pure hatred.

I vaguely guessed the reason for her anger and felt a chill run down my spine. Instinctively, I glanced toward Anuo's room—the door was shut, and there was no sign of her. But Dad, hearing the commotion, came out of his bedroom.

"Mom..." I covered my face, trembling as I looked at her.

"Don't call me Mom!" she roared furiously.

Beibei was terrified. She had never seen Mom this angry before and couldn't help trembling. Dad, too, had no idea what was happening and just stared at us blankly.

Mom glared at me for a moment before saying, "Come with me."

I followed her into my bedroom, and the door slammed shut behind us. Bracing myself for another beating, I instinctively shrank back, lowering my head but cautiously looking up at her.

Mom took out her phone and pulled up a video. In the footage, I looked like a villain, pinning Anuo beneath me. Amid the girl's sobs, I forced my cock into her virgin pussy.

My head was buzzing. That video actually existed.

"Can... can you listen to my explanation first?" I looked timidly at my furious mother, my mind a tangled mess, my hands and feet fidgeting, completely at a loss.

Mom put down her phone and raised her hand, slapping my left cheek once more. She glared at me viciously, her chest heaving violently as she gasped for breath, her voice low and heavy as she asked, "What do you want to explain? Is that person in the video you?"

"Y-yes, it's me." My voice was so low I could barely hear it myself.

"Then what else is there to explain? Explain why you..." Mom realized her voice was too loud, afraid Dad and the others might hear, and abruptly cut herself off mid-sentence.

My cheeks were red and swollen, burning with pain. Frowning, I explained pitifully, "She seduced me. I didn't know she was my sister at the time."

"Are you a fish? You bite the hook the moment it's thrown! All you know is eating all day long! What else do you know?" Mom's face flushed red with anger, the veins in her neck bulging. Pointing at me, she gritted her teeth and said, "Laying hands on your own sister, you even dare to... your own mother... You really have no limits to your audacity!"

Furious, Mom looked around for something to use, searching for a long time but finding nothing suitable. Finally, she simply took off her high heel, standing barefoot in her stockings, and grabbed the shoe. Using the sole, she began beating and whipping my head fiercely.

I cried out in pain, but it didn't earn me any mercy from Mom. Instead, she hit harder and harder.

Mom cursed as she hit me, beating me for over ten minutes before finally stopping. She wiped the sweat from her forehead, panting heavily as she glared at me.

"Ling Xiaodong, are you trying to drive your mother to her grave?"

"No." I covered my head, pleading tearfully, "Please calm down first. Let me explain the whole story, okay?"

Mom stood with one foot in a high heel, the other stocking-clad foot tiptoeing on the floor, still clutching the shoe. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself and said, "You're determined not to let me live."

"Mom, don't say that. May you live a long life, may you live forever."

"You're still being cheeky! With you here to anger me, every extra day I live is a blessing from my past life."

After saying this, Mom put her high heel back on, turned around, and opened the door. Seeing Dad and Beibei standing outside, eavesdropping intently, she shouted, "Move!" The two of them jumped in fright and obediently stepped aside.

Mom walked over to the sofa and sat down heavily, shouting, "Ling Donghai, come here!"

Dad hesitated for a moment before obediently walking over. Mom glanced at him coldly and said, "Bring the divorce papers."

"You... what are you..." Dad was stunned, momentarily at a loss.

"Aren't you the one who wants a divorce? I'll grant your wish. It's not like this life is worth living anyway." Seeing Dad still standing motionless, she roared, "Go get them!"

"Um... honey."

"Don't call me honey!"

Originally, Dad had been the one in the right, but Mom's sudden outburst left him bewildered. He didn't know whether to get the papers or not, caught in a dilemma, completely unsure of what to do.

The two of them remained locked in a tense standoff for a long time. Beibei moved closer, her voice trembling with tears as she asked, "Mom, what are you trying to do?"

"None of your business. Either go back to your room or leave."

Mom's voice was filled with anger, and Beibei was so frightened that tears streamed down her face. Yet, she didn't dare cry out loud, biting her lower lip in grievance as she stood trembling to the side.

My mind was a chaotic mess, trying to figure out how to resolve this situation. By chance, I noticed Annuo standing by the bedroom door, arms crossed, leaning against the doorframe with an air of complete detachment.

Suddenly, a surge of inexplicable anger rose within me, fueled by long-held grudges. I strode over before she could react, swung my arm with all my strength, and slapped her hard across the face.

The slap was sharp and loud, so forceful that it drew blood from the corner of her mouth. She turned her head to the side, covering her face, and remained silent, her eyes stubbornly fixed on me.

Though that slap released the pent-up anger I had been holding for days, seeing the blood at the corner of her mouth stirred a mix of heartache and regret within me.

My sudden outburst left everyone else in the room stunned. After a moment of silence, Dad suddenly shouted, "Ling Xiaodong, what are you doing?"

As he yelled, he started walking toward me. Before I could explain, he raised his hand and slapped me hard, roaring, "She's your sister! Have you lost your mind?"

Seeing me get hit, Mom rushed forward and slapped Dad in return, shouting, "Ling Donghai! How dare you hit my son!"

Dad's face flushed red with anger, his neck taut, and his whole body trembled slightly as he yelled, "Then why did he hit my daughter?"

"You know she's your daughter, your own daughter!"

Dad's eyes widened as he roared, "Then whose child is in your belly?"

"I won't tell you! I'll never tell you. Didn't you want a divorce? Let's do it!"

After a moment of silence, Dad let out a furious roar, "Fine!" He then stormed into the bedroom, retrieved the divorce papers, and slammed them onto the coffee table with a loud "smack."

Without a second thought, Mom walked over, picked up a pen, and swiftly signed her name.

Dad hesitated for a moment, glancing at Mom. Seeing her resolute expression and cold demeanor, he gritted his teeth and signed his name as well.

Only after they had both signed did they realize that their marriage was truly over.

They stared at each other, neither saying a word.

I stood to the side, dumbfounded by everything that had just unfolded, not even having the chance to step in and stop it.

Turning to glare at Annuo, I said through gritted teeth, "Are you satisfied now?"

Annuo lowered her hand, gently licked the blood from the corner of her mouth, her cheek red and swollen. Her expression remained blank, showing no trace of triumph or joy.

Apart from Beibei's crying, everyone else in the room stood silently in place. After a long while, Mom suddenly spoke up, "Xiaodong and Beibei will come with me. We'll make space for you and your daughter."

"Do as you please," Dad said coldly.

"Mom… Dad…" Beibei cried out in distress.

Mom stood up and said, "Stop crying. Pack your things and come with me." Seeing that neither of us moved, she shouted, "Go!"

Beibei shuddered in fright, stood frozen for a moment, then turned and walked over to me, crying out, "Brother." I gently stroked her head and said softly, "Go pack your things."

I went back to my room, grabbed a few changes of clothes and some study materials, then walked out. I saw Annuo still standing there quietly.

With a snort, I said to her, "Goodbye, little sister~!" I deliberately emphasized the words "little sister." She opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, but no words came out.

I walked up to Dad and said quietly, "Dad, I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," Dad sighed, opened his arms, hugged me, and patted my back gently. "Study hard and try to get into a good school."

"Dad..." I hugged him tightly, my heart aching with each beat, feeling truly sorry for him.

After we separated, Dad whispered to me, "You're a man now. From now on, you'll have to take care of Mom and Beibei."

"Dad... I'm sorry." Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably. Dad wiped them away for me and patted my shoulder gently.

Beibei finished packing and came out of the room, her eyes red and sobbing incessantly.

Dad held her in his arms, offering a few words of encouragement and comfort, then looked at Mom and said, "Go to the civil affairs bureau as soon as possible to finalize the divorce."

Mom replied coldly, "Tomorrow afternoon."

The family stood in the living room, silent and facing each other. After a long while, Mom stepped outside. Beibei and I gazed at Dad reluctantly before finally following her out.
