Chapter 111 -  This Time, I Won’t Just Dodge!

Inside the ship, Broly watched the chaos on the screen with a satisfied grin. Seeing Master Roshi jump around in panic after hearing his voice was… honestly, more entertaining than expected.

"Alright, that's enough," Broly said, finally turning away from the display. "No need to watch anymore."

Merus gave him a long, silent look.

You scared the poor old man half to death… he thought wryly.

But aloud, he said nothing — and simply powered the monitor down.

Landing on the Training World

Moments later, the ship descended toward a barren planet. The ground below was a landscape of cracked stone, jagged ridges, and deep craters — a lifeless world perfect for high-level combat.

They landed with a soft thud, and the hatch opened.

A dry, dusty wind drifted through the air. No vegetation. No water. No life. Only stone and silence.

"Let's move farther out," Merus said, lifting off the ground. "We don't want to damage the ship."

Broly nodded and followed.

Soon they stood in the center of a colossal impact basin — dozens of kilometers wide, surrounded by towering walls of ancient rock. It was the perfect arena.

Merus touched down lightly. Broly landed a moment later, fists already tightening.

"Here?" Broly asked, voice low and charged.

Merus nodded. "This place can withstand a lot. Feel free to go all out."

Broly's eyes lit up.

"Then I won't hold back."

Broly Unleashed

He inhaled.

Then—

BOOOOOM!!!

A terrifying shockwave erupted from Broly's body.

Golden energy roared skyward like a newborn star.

The air screamed. The ground buckled. Stone shattered and vaporized.

A crater expanded beneath his feet as though the planet itself were recoiling.

Dust towers surged into the sky, mushrooming like a nuclear detonation.

The atmosphere rippled like water struck by a meteor.

When the blast settled, Broly stood within a vast molten depression, his aura blazing like a miniature sun.

His body radiated heat. His muscles were taut as forged steel.

This was his first time unleashing everything without restraint.

Merus watched carefully.

Incredible… His raw power is far beyond my earlier estimates…

He spoke calmly, but his tone carried genuine admiration:

"Your power is exceptional, Broly. Truly. But…"

He shook his head gently.

"…Power alone won't let you defeat me."

Broly's smile sharpened. "Then show me what you've got."

Merus Steps Up

Broly launched forward — faster than sound, faster than thought.

The ground split in his wake. Space seemed to bend around his charge.

But Merus didn't retreat.

He simply… shifted.

Not a jump. Not a dash. Something subtler.

Broly's punch ripped through empty air.

The shockwave carved a trench across the landscape.

Broly spun and swung again. Merus tilted slightly — the strike missed by a hair.

Then came the barrage — fists, elbows, knees, kicks, all raining down with planet-shattering force.

Merus drifted between every strike like water slipping through grasping fingers. No wasted motion. No tension. Only effortless flow.

After a full minute, Broly was breathing hard.

Merus stood calm and steady, not even winded.

"Broly," he said gently, "you've never truly learned technique, have you?"

Broly exhaled. "Didn't need to. I just kept getting stronger."

Merus nodded.

"And that works — until you face someone like Beerus."

Broly froze for a split second.

"You're saying I can't beat him?"

Merus answered plainly:

"Not yet. The gap isn't just power — it's skill, control, instinct, and something deeper."

Broly didn't look discouraged.

His eyes ignited.

"Then I'll beat you first."

Merus smiled faintly.

"A fair step forward."

This Time, No Evasion

Broly rushed again, faster, more precise.

But this time, Merus didn't dodge.

He lifted one hand.

Broly's fist collided—

THUD.

Stopped.

Completely.

Energy rippled — then vanished, absorbed like a stone dropped into the sea.

Before Broly could react, Merus placed his other palm lightly on Broly's chest.

BOOM!

Broly was blasted backward, skidding across the stone for kilometers, gouging twin trenches through solid rock.

He barely steadied himself when Merus appeared behind him.

"Be aware of all directions in battle," Merus said softly.

A tap to the back—

Broly lurched forward.

Then Merus was everywhere.

Front.

Back.

Above.

Below.

Each touch launched Broly in a different direction, each movement flawless, each blow perfectly measured.

Broly's raw might was immense — but against the calm mastery of an Angel-trained fighter, he looked like a giant swinging at a shadow.

Even with strength rivaling galaxies, he couldn't land a single hit.

Because Merus wasn't just stronger in technique.

He was fighting on an entirely different plane of existence.
