Jonathan's POV
Livelane Town - Morning
Vance had given me the address of the town, and the motel where Daniel stayed with Imelda back then.
The only bus to Livelane town was this one that arrives in the morning.
As I got off the bus, I noticed the town had a very unsettling feeling to it. As if the ground itself was saying, 'outsiders are not welcome.
"I daresay everyone who lives here was actually born here," I said in my mind.
I looked at my phone and noticed Veronica had made calls and sent messages.
I dozed off so I didn't notice.
"Hello," I said as I dialed her number.
"Johnny!" she said, anxious and excited. "Have you arrived? Is everything alright? Did you find a place to stay? Did anyone trouble you?—"
"Relax," I said smiling.
"I just got off, and so far everything seems to be okay. As for the place, the motel is right in front of me, so for now I'll book a room. Vance has already arranged the shop papers, so the first thing would be to set the store and—"
