They sat in the kitchen for a long time after the Victor call.
Not arguing. Not resolved. Just — present in the specific uncomfortable space of a fight that had said most of what it needed to say and hadn't yet found the way to settle.
Damian made tea because he needed to do something with his hands.
Kendrick watched him make it with the expression of someone who understood that the tea was not about tea.
"The board conditions," Damian said eventually. Not looking at him. "The co-sign threshold. You said Daniel is structuring around it."
"Yes."
"The major acquisitions Walker Corporation has in the pipeline — which ones trigger the threshold."
Kendrick told him.
Two potential acquisitions. Both above the threshold. Both requiring a co-sign from the board for the next six months.
"And if Victor is on the advisory board," Damian said, "does his vote count toward the co-sign requirement."
Kendrick paused.
