Another month has passed and life has never been busier.
After getting a hang of the basics about Magi, Quash stopped attending any classes and started to go hunting. He needed to level up. The Academy City had two major ranking battles. One is 6 months after the start of the year, and another at the start. It was to determine the ranking—a reshuffling, in simple terms.
Quash has planned not to participate in the half-yearly exam, but he will participate in the yearly exam, as it determines what rank one will get in the second year. The reason he decided not to participate is because he knows he will more or less get folded. By the time of the half-yearly exams, everyone would be strong enough to rival his peak. Most would be at that level, and many even stronger.
So he will just partake in the mandatory exam and be done with it. He won't have to worry about finances in the long run. Starting from the second year, the exams just become a show-off.
