Krrrrrr.

The sound of whirring echoed through the cave as Nathan hid himself inside.

The Glow Mosses emitted purple light, illuminating the whole cave.

"There!"

A shout resounded inside the cave, and there, three sets of footsteps followed.

After a few minutes, they found the place where Nathan had hidden.

There were three forks inside the cave, and each one was too dark for them to see.

"There's no other choice. Protect me!"

The man who was holding the torch said, then, he passed the torch to the one who had the keys, knelt down, and prayed.

"O, Faceless God, reveal to me your fallen son!"

Golden lights appeared on the empty part of his eyes, and a pair grew in it, but instead of a normal pair, a peculiar one emerged.

The pupils are like spirals converging on the middle, and the cornea is the color of a dandelion.

The eyeballs are gray in color, and there are four lines that looked like the cornea is being held in place.

"Revelation Eyes."

The torchbearer groaned as the eyes started to bleed.

Silence followed as the eyes began to churn.

Blood flowed freely from both sockets.

Bang!

The torch bearer was suddenly flung back, rolled down the floor and knocked a few rocks back.

"Blergh."

Blood flowed from the sockets where his nose and mouth must be, but because he doesn't have one, his face was a ruin of shredded flesh.

His allies rushed over to him, helping him up.

"Wh-what did you see?"

The keybearer asked.

Coughing, the torchbearer wasn't able to say what he wanted to say fast.

Schlick!

A low, slow sound of tearing echoed through the cave.

A falling sound followed, like sack of sand being lowered gently to the ground.

"Sword?"

Keybearer said, still supporting Torchbearer from falling over.

A grip suddenly stopped him from going over, and when he looked back, Torchbearer was shaking his head.

"What?"

As Keybearer was starting to doubt Torchbearer, a light shone upon their heads.

A halo appeared, and before long, vanished as soon as it appeared.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! A BLESSED OPPORTUNITY!"

Keybearer laughed as he shrugged off Torchbearer.

"Kid, come out!"

He shouted inside the cave.

Yet, nothing happened.

No movement, no breathing, nothing.

It was like he was speaking to air.

"Hey kid, I said stop hiding!"

Keybearer shouted again, this time, he summoned a wand from his sleeves.

Yet, a hand stopped him. It was Torchbearer.

"What? You are stopping me from getting your job?"

Torchbearer stopped and clutched his head.

Keybearer threw him off, and aimed his wand at him.

"You are a failure, Torch. But God is merciful."

He waved his wand and created a light on the tip of it.

"You saw him, but failed to apprehend him."

He then fired the orb of light upwards.

Light shone everywhere on the cave.

The lights were so bright that it literally blinded everyone inside, including himself.

"Blindness Cure!"

He waved his wand again, and this time, he cured his blindness. The strong glare of light wasn't affecting his eyes anymore.

His head felt like a heavy object fell on it, but thanks to it, he was released from the blindness fast.

He spun his head around, but he found out that he can't do it.

The bright light blindness was cured, but he is still suffering from nausea, and all he sees is something that is upside down.

He tried to use his hands to scratch his eyes into focus, but because he can't move, he just blinked a few times.

When his focus returned, he saw that what he was seeing is a body, upside down.

It wore a black robe, and the hood is still not worn by the wearer.

Behind the robe is the symbol of a faceless face.

It's their uniform.

Keybearer wanted to speak up, but he felt his body weakening.

Then, he heard a sound beside him.

Without moving his head, he turned his eyes, only to see Torchbearer being held up in the air by a man.

But, what he didn't understand is that they are doing it upside down.

Then, he looked up, and saw the ceiling touching his head.

Yet when he looked down, that's when he realized what was happening.

Everything, from his neck downwards, was gone.

Before he can process it, Torchbearer uttered a phrase that sent chills to him.

"You...are...his...favorite...meal..."

It was then that he realized that the wrong thing he was feeling was not from himself, but from the man they were chasing.

Whirrrrr!

"Relax, Vion, I'm finishing things up."

The man said as he plunged the sword up from Torchbearer's diaphragm.

As the blood flowed down on his hands, the man smiled maniacally as he laughed.

"Is this all you've got for me, Faceless?

He threw down Torchbearer, and flicked Swordbearer's sword.

The blood formed a clean arc on the floor, and Torchbearer's body laid flat on the ground.

A small orb floated above the dead body, and then, it began to spin.

Then, tiny motes of light began to ascend, and like a vacuum, the orb sucked in those lights.

The body then began to become dry.

Muscles, skin, and bones began to become like powder.

"Is this a scam?"

He heard the man said as he picked up the orb from Torchbearer's dead body.

"I can't even use this body to be an Undead, and it only charged me 1%?"

The man shook his head and walked towards Keybearer.

"Oh, your eyes are still open?"

The man threw the orb again at the body that was standing before Keybearer.

He tried to say something, but he can't.

This was the moment he realized what happened.

The body's hood, it was not left like that, it was not put on. Meaning, he is the one upside down.

The feeling of the stone hitting his head, it was him hitting the "ceiling" where he is now.

And the body?

A kick was delivered to him, but instead of resistance, he just felt his world spin.

Then, he hit something soft.

He looked around, and he had landed on the groin of a headless corpse

And another one was there.

Another head.

Swordbearer's head.

It was sleeping peacefully.

"Here."

A heavy object landed on the headless corpse.

As Keybearer saw it, the hood was not on because it has nothing to hold on to.

And the body...

Whirrr.

..Is his.
