Entering the room, Yuno saw Deya lying facing the wall.
"Little aunt, please look at me," the girl asked.
Remembering how much Yuno had cared for her, Deya reluctantly turned. She was afraid that seeing her face, Yuno might show disgust, but she only smiled tenderly and, taking her hand, said:
"I know what you're afraid of. You're scared that your friends will look at you with disgust. I know that fear. Let me show you something."
With that, Yuno stood up and began to undress. It made Deya uncomfortable, but seeing the numerous scars on the girl's body, she realized what Yuno wanted to show her.
"Where did you get those?" the girl asked in a trembling voice.
"Let's just say my parents' love was very unusual. For a long time, I didn't care about those scars, but when I realized I had feelings for your brother, I felt embarrassed."
"But he seemed not to notice them. It took me time to understand, but he always looked at me, not at the scars. Honestly, I don't care what others think. All that matters to me is knowing your brother loves me."
"I know you're afraid that this might push your friends away."
"If that's enough to leave your friendship behind, then they're not friends. That goes for the boy you like too. I know for sure that if I or any of my sisters get hurt and lose our beauty, your brother would never abandon any of us."
"I know you're still afraid that as soon as his bandages come off, we'll scatter like rats from a sinking ship. But if that ship goes down, we'll go down with it."
"And if this scar is enough to make a boy run away, then he's not worthy of you."
"It took many years for your brother to stop seeing me as a child and see a woman who loves him. If this boy does run away — it may take time — but I'm sure one day you'll meet someone worthy of your love."
"And right now, you need to eat. To your brother, you're like a daughter, which means we three are like mothers to you. And if your daddy finds out we couldn't make you eat, he might punish us," Yuno said jokingly.
"Something tells me my favorite mommy wouldn't mind being punished at all," Deya replied with a laugh.
"Maybe, but only when it's appropriate. I'm glad you consider me your favorite mommy, but don't tell the others — they'll definitely be jealous. I'll bring you something to eat," Yuno said cheerfully.
