While the public was actively buzzing, Ray organized charity events and gave interviews. Officially, he still worked for the company — over the years, its capitalization had grown significantly, making him a very wealthy man.
In one interview, he was asked:
"Is it true that your ex-fiancée sends a decent check to every charity event you organize?"
"Yes, that's true."
"In her interviews, Hatsune speaks of you very warmly. She once said it was you who inspired her to do charity work."
"I'm glad that during our relationship, I was able to have a positive influence on her. I'm truly proud of who she's become," Ray said sincerely. "I hope she does well."
"Are you aware that one of her fans created a poll asking if she deserves forgiveness? The 'yes' answer won by a large margin. So I want to ask: could you forgive her?"
"I don't know if you're aware, but she still wears the ring you were going to give her. Also, all these years, she's never been seen with another man. Maybe it means she's waiting for you?"
"As I said above, I'm very happy for her. I don't think I can ever forgive betrayal, but I hope she can find her happiness."
"And if she truly regrets how things ended between us, then she won't make those mistakes in the future."
"Is there still resentment in your heart? Do you regret giving up the ability to walk for a girl who betrayed you?"
"First, you're mistaken: there's no resentment in my heart. Only disappointment in myself, because I was wrong about her. Even if she betrayed my trust, that little one didn't deserve to die, let alone her child."
There were many questions during the program, some of which Ray considered far more important than those at the end, but such was the nature of these shows.
