Chapter 132 - Chapter 132: Brother, What Is Love?

Deya was smart in many ways, but despite her teasing toward her niece, in matters of love she was completely inexperienced. Having learned the truth about Lily and started wearing the mask of a sweet girl in front of her brother, she had gotten so into the role that the mask had become her main face, especially when she was with her brother. So she asked:

"Brother, how did you know you were in love? And what is love?"

Looking at his sister, Ray chuckled and said:

"Has my little fox fallen in love? And who's the lucky guy?"

"Don't talk nonsense, I'm still too young for that. It's just that Rocky confessed to me, and I want to understand what he's feeling."

"Honestly, I don't think it's love, more like a childhood crush. But that doesn't mean it can't become something more over the years."

"As for how I knew I was in love... the truth is, I never believed in love. You need to find a person who commands your respect. I respected Lily for her perseverance and willingness to fight for her family."

"I also knew that if a storm came, she would stay with me, and we'd weather it together."

"Kira and Yuno are very similar in character. I also respect them for their perseverance and for being able to find themselves and move forward despite everything. We help each other move forward."

"You forgot about Sam. But I think what you said about those two can be applied to her too," Deya said playfully.

"Yes, you're right," Ray said with a chuckle.

"You need to be very careful. You're already very beautiful, and over the years your beauty will only grow. Girls like you often become trophies for guys."

"Were you one of those hunters too?" Deya remarked playfully. Having such a candid conversation with her brother, she didn't even notice her little girl mask cracking.

"No. When I was your age, I had no time for love. And when I got a little older, I met Lily. Besides, I was small and fat back then, I wouldn't have made a hunter."

"And how do you know if someone is the right one for you?"

"That's a very difficult question. I can only say how it was for me. As I got to know Lily, I noticed that I wanted her to be around as much as possible. I wanted her to smile more, and I loved listening to her."

As he spoke these words, a bittersweet smile appeared on her brother's face. Deya even regretted bringing up the topic.

"She was the person I wanted to become better for. After meeting her, I regretted being fat for the first time. It was the fact that she was there, supported me, and was my anchor that made me realize she was worth all my efforts."

"Even though I don't believe in love, Lily and I respected each other, were there when needed, and gave each other warmth. I think that can be called love. But love can only be real if it's mutual. Not everyone gets to experience it. Girls and men see the world a little differently."

"You'd better talk about this with one of the girls. I think Kira is the best suited for that."

Thinking over her brother's words, Deya concluded they made sense and decided to talk to Kira when she had the chance.
