Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Demonic Sword

"However, there probably won't be a situation like that again."

"The situation has changed."

Hoshimi Aya pondered.

She remembered hearing one sentence before she lost consciousness.

"I will always be watching you."

Although she didn't know the specifics, it probably wouldn't be out of control like before.

Of course, if it did get out of control, she hadn't said anything yet.

"The situation has changed?"

"What do you mean?"

Hoshimi Miyabi was a bit confused.

Soichiro also looked at Hoshimi Aya with a questioning gaze.

"I can't explain the specifics."

"Right, where is my sword?"

As she spoke, Hoshimi Aya looked around but couldn't find her Demonic Sword.

"Oh, I put it away."

"I put it with my sword."

Hoshimi Miyabi explained.

Hearing this, Hoshimi Aya got off the bed.

"Take me there, I want to see if there's anything different."

"I already agreed to accept its power before, so there should be something different,"

Hoshimi Aya thought.

Hoshimi Miyabi nodded upon hearing this and led the few of them to the training room.

One entire wall of the training room was hung with various types of weapons.

The most conspicuous were the two Demonic Swords.

"Which one of these two is Aya's?"

Soichiro looked at the two Demonic Swords not far away, unable to distinguish them.

Just as Hoshimi Miyabi was about to explain, she saw Hoshimi Aya walk straight toward her sword.

Then she picked up her sword and raised it high, drawing out a section.

A pair of fox eyes appeared on the blade, staring at Hoshimi Aya.

"..."

Hoshimi Aya looked at the blade, silent and unable to speak.

"What's wrong?"

"Aya, is there a problem?"

Hoshimi Miyabi asked with concern.

"Is it because of the change in the blade?"

Soichiro looked at the pair of fox eyes on the blade in confusion, not quite understanding what was happening.

"It's nothing, I'm just a little surprised."

After speaking, Hoshimi Aya put the sword back and turned to look at the two of them.

"This is probably the extent of the change."

"You all probably saw it just now."

"Besides having those extra eyes, it doesn't feel any different to me."

"The only difference is that the feeling between me and it seems more intimate,"

Hoshimi Aya stroked her chin and pondered.

"It seems this experiment wasn't a bad thing,"

"On the contrary, it was a good thing that promoted the relationship between you and it,"

Soichiro mused.

"Yes, that's right."

"But I don't know if there are any other changes."

Hoshimi Aya nodded in agreement with Soichiro.

This experiment had indeed made her relationship with the Nine-Tailed Fox more harmonious.

"... Aya, I want to try your sword."

"Let's see what's different about our swords."

Hoshimi Miyabi thought after a moment of silence.

"That's fine, then I'll try yours too."

"I've wanted to try yours for a long time, but I never had the chance."

After speaking, Hoshimi Aya directly handed her sword to Hoshimi Miyabi beside her, and turned to take the other one from the rack.

Both of them drew their swords simultaneously.

Hoshimi Miyabi drew her sword, and the blade emitted a faint blue flame. Suddenly, a pair of fox eyes appeared on the blade, forming a fox head along the blue flame, gazing at the wielder. Instantly, the blue flame turned red.

Suddenly, Hoshimi Miyabi's spirit flickered, and she clutched her forehead in pain.

At the same time, Hoshimi Miyabi's spiritual body arrived on the surface of that lake, where she saw a gigantic Nine-Tailed Fox sizing her up.

"Is this the Nine-Tailed Fox my sister mentioned?"

Hoshimi Miyabi stroked her chin, looking at the Nine-Tailed Fox staring at her not far away, deep in thought.

"... You! You are not her!"

"Who exactly are you!"

"Get out!"

After speaking, the Nine-Tailed Fox roared angrily at Hoshimi Miyabi.

Simultaneously, Hoshimi Miyabi was kicked out of that space.

"Did I get out?"

"Hiss!"

As soon as Hoshimi Miyabi's consciousness returned, she felt a sharp stinging pain in her palm and let go of her hand.

The Demonic Sword fell to the ground.

"Mi-chan, are you okay?"

Soichiro rushed to Hoshimi Miyabi's side with concern.

"This Demonic Sword is rejecting me."

"What happened on Aya's side?"

Hoshimi Miyabi looked towards Hoshimi Aya in the distance and asked.

At that moment, Hoshimi Aya was half-kneeling on the ground holding her sword, emitting a strange red light, her face contorted in pain.

"I'm not sure. Aya fell into an unknown state right after drawing her Demonic Sword, just like you did,"

"I tried to help, but I couldn't get close at all."

"The circle of red light emanating from Aya's body seems to not want me near,"

Soichiro replied. Ever since they drew their swords together, they had both fallen into a strange state.

Meanwhile, on Hoshimi Aya's side.

It was also over a lake, but unlike the other side, no Nine-Tailed Fox was seen in this space.

A gigantic eyeball floated in the sky, watching Hoshimi Aya.

"Is this the Tailless?"

"Something feels off,"

Hoshimi Aya looked at the eyeball watching her in the sky and felt that something was not right.

But she couldn't quite pinpoint what was wrong.

However, before Hoshimi Aya could react, she was kicked out of this space and returned to her body.

"Huh? Where's the sword?"

Hoshimi Aya looked at her empty hands, feeling puzzled.

No wonder she was kicked out of the space; the sword had been taken away.

"Aya, I saw the situation wasn't right, so I took the sword back."

"You were half-kneeling on the ground just now, looking very pained."

Hoshimi Miyabi explained.

Although she felt a slight oddity when she took it, thankfully she managed to suppress it, and no special accidents occurred.

"Did I?"

"I remember after I drew my sword, I arrived in a mental space somewhat similar to mine."

"But there was no Nine-Tailed Fox inside; instead, there was a giant eyeball floating in the air watching me."

"I didn't feel anything uncomfortable there,"

Hoshimi Aya explained.

"Nothing much on my end either; I was also pulled into that space,"

"But the Nine-Tailed Fox you mentioned seemed to recognize me and directly kicked me out of that space,"

"When I came out, the hand holding the sword felt a sharp sting, so I let go."

Hoshimi Miyabi nodded, recounting her experience as well.

"The Demonic Swords have spirits; it seems they have already recognized their masters,"

"The situation with Mi-chan's side should be that it recognizes Aya as its master and rejects everyone else,"

"And Aya's side... it also seems like a rejection reaction. Perhaps it hasn't received the sword's approval either..."

"But thankfully, Mi-chan, you stopped it just now, and no accidents occurred,"

Soichiro mused.
