The Black Lotus had taken the whole top floor of a merchant's rest off the harbor road, and they still hadn't unpacked a single crate.
They genuinely expected to be out of here that damn fast.
Samara climbed the stairs, nodded at the guard on the landing, and found Renzo at the window with a cup of tea, watching the harbor like he was already counting the ships he'd own.
"You heard about the boxes?" She asked.
"I heard two crews robbed House Montecardi blind today." Renzo didn't turn around. "It's slowly becoming the talk of every tavern on the coast."
"It's bait." She crossed her arms. "Nobody loses two shipments in four days by accident. Not someone as smart as her. She put those boxes on the road so somebody would grab them, and somebody grabbed them, and whatever's inside is going to blow up in their hands. I'd bet my whole fee on it."
