Moon:

AHHHHHHHH!

After some heavy breathing.

Sigh. I feel dizzy. What happened? I feel really tired—

Moon fainted.

(door opens)

Unknown voice:

I heard you scream, so I thought you woke up.

Moon woke up at the sound and saw a drone slightly shorter than her, with black hair and orange eyes on his visor.

Moon:

Who are you? What happened? Why do I feel so dizzy?

Scourge:

What an energy for someone who just woke up. Well, I don't want to make you even more confused, so let's start with the basics. I'm Scourge, a worker drone. And who are you?

Moon:

Me... wait, I don't know!

Scourge:

Hmm. Quite a problem. Maybe your friends have something to say.

Moon:

My friends?

Scourge:

You don't remember your friends?

Moon:

No.

Scourge:

Could you let me put my finger on your visor for a second?

Moon:

Obviously not!

Scourge:

Well, if you think badly of me, why do you think I saved you?

Moon:

Saved me?

Scourge:

Look around.

Moon looked. All she saw was a medieval‑style house with wooden walls and some devices that looked like they made the room warmer.

Moon:

I still don't get it.

Scourge:

Ah, man. Grab the bed.

Moon:

What do you mean?

Scourge:

I'm going to open the door. You have to grab something.

Moon:

What? Why?

The moment the door opened, a huge blast of cold wind hit the room. Moon was about to fly away if she hadn't grabbed the bed.

Moon:

CLOSE THE DOOR!

(door closes)

WHAT IS THIS!

Scourge:

We're in a frost storm. I saw your hand – your body was buried in ice. I brought you here and waited for you to wake up.

Moon:

Still no. Why do you want to put your finger on my visor?

Scourge:

Try and see. Also, I don't think you have anything to lose.

Moon (in her head):

Okay, he says it with a very calm tone, doesn't show any evil intention, and he says he saved me from that storm. Also, he's kinda right. I don't care if I even die or not.

Moon:

You know what? Let's do it.

Scourge:

Keep your eyes closed, and I need you to be calm for sixty seconds, okay?

Moon:

Okay.

(pause)

Scourge's system:

A sudden shock happened that jolted Scourge.

Scourge:

Well, that is unexpected.

Moon:

What happened?

Scourge:

I've met a lot of drones with a system designation failure, but this has never happened before.

Moon:

Explain.

Scourge:

You forgot your name, your friends, and your memory is foggy. All of that leads to one conclusion: permanent memory dysfunction.

Moon:

?

Scourge:

That means you either forgot all of your memories, or you will remember some from time to time – but they'll be blurry. That also explains your dizziness. Don't worry, it will go away soon. You just need some sleep.

Moon put her hand against her face and looked very sad.

Scourge:

But you have a symptom I've never seen in a worker drone.

Moon:

What is it? Is that going to make things even worse?

Scourge:

Your name – it's weird. I see the normal first name, "Moon," but there's also glitchy text behind it. That never happens with worker drones. Worker drones usually have singular names.

Scourge looked at Moon, appearing to suspect something.

Scourge:

Moon, I'll go out for some time, and I'll be back. You can't even stand, and you're very dizzy, so I advise you to sleep.

Moon:

You're right. I feel the need for some sleep after all of this.

Moon put her head under the blanket, grabbed it, and held onto the bed.
