Chapter 35 - Chapter 35

— A Month Later, Georgia, Atlanta, General POV —

There was a classroom full of students. Most of them looked to be checked out of the class, but the teacher in front of them looked to be determined to get them to listen.

"I am sure all of you have read the assigned reading, can any of you share with me your favorite passage?" Seeing no one raised their hands Professor scanned the room and noticed a man with glasses, who was drawing on his notebook.

"Ah yes! Mr. Aslan, thank you for volunteering."

The glasses wearing man looked overly startled, "Um yes of course." He mumbled as his eyes scanned towards the paper as a line drew his attention. "My favorite passage from Mr Mills address is: Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing."

The teacher looked surprise for a second, he could tell Aslan had just read the passage from the paper, but it was actually the most impactful passage "Why did that passage spoke to you?"

Aslan stood silent for a second as he thought about it for a second. "The world is full of bad people. People who are willing to play dirty to get what they want. And unless we are willing to say no to them they'll trample over all of us."

"Nice answer Mr. Aslan… but next time please do the assigned reading and pay attention in class, you can draw after." That got a chuckle from the rest of the class as he continued teaching.

Adem sat down and covered his face with little shame apperant. The drawing on his notebook is now revealed to be that of the Homelander.

"AND CUT! That was good, no, better than good, good enough. We'll give a 15 minute break and will move on to the costume making scene," director Adam Burke said as he took a sip from his drink and spit it out immediately. "Aston! I said almond milk, this is clearly whole milk! Get me the right coffee this minute or I swear to God I'll replace you with that busty intern."

"I'm sorry Mr. Burke, I'll get you the right coffee right away." The film studies student said as he grabbed the coffee from Burke's hand and ran away, in the mean time Adem floated out of his seat and then flew right up to Burke.

"Hey Burke, go easy on the staff, they are doing their best to make your vision into reality, alright." Adem said, and Burke seemingly did a 180.

"Of course Khan, sorry about that. I just lost myself to my temper." He said as he got up from his seat and took a few steps away from the floating figure. "You know how it is with stress and all."

"It's cool, just be more mindful in the future," he said with a shrug as he turned around. He was about to fly towards his trailer when he heard a distant and distinct sound.

It was the sound of a Supe flying at subsonic speeds, a Supe who was flying towards to the movie studio at this moment.

A few seconds later a blond figure entered to the set.

He was greeted by looks of awe.

This man was none other than Homelander, the most powerful man in the world. He was the Leader of the Seven and more importantly the man who was holding the strings of Vought, making him everyone's boss.

"Sir Homelander! It is- It is a grand pleasure to have you in my set- I mean in your set." Burke began to mumble with the standard fake smile people had while talking to a powerful and unpredictable man. "We are all glad to have you hear, but your cameo is scheduled to be filmed next week, was there- was there a change we were not aware of?" Burke asked, but the blond hero ignored him and instead looked straight at the star of the movie.

"Khan! We meet again. It's been a few years since Madelyn's funeral, hasn't it?" Homelander asked before noticing so many people around them staring at the duo, "Is there somewhere we can talk in private?" The man asked, but before Adem could reply Burke spoke up.

"You can use my trailer! It's the biggest one here, I mean, please feel free to use my trailer Sir Homelander."

"We can talk in my trailer," Adem said as he motioned for Homelander to follow. The duo ignored the staring eyes as they walked.

When they entered the trailer both of their hearts began to beat ecstatically. Albeit for different reasons. But it was clear to each Supe the other one in front of them was just as nervous.

"So, Homelander, what brought you to my humble abode?"

"I- I wanted to congratulate you on your first film. And of course to welcome you into the Seven."

Sensing mo deception Adem nods his head, "Thank you. It means a lot."

Seeing the younger Supe was not talking up Homelander walked around the trailer, his eyes stumbled upon a framed foto. He strolled towards it and picked it up

"Are they your… parents?" He asked with a little bit of longing and jealousy in his voice.

Adem remained silent for a second before speaking up. "Yes,"

"You look quite a bit like your mother, but nothing like your father." He said before placing the frame down.

"No siblings I take it?"

"Nope, only child." He said.

"Pity. You know… I always viewed the Seven as a- as a family. Like I am the big brother they never had." Homelander said as he looked at Adem, he was trying to see a warm affection but all he got was a mild nod. "You are soon going to join the Seven, and I want to be that for you. Big brother you never had."

At this Adem couldn't help but be confused. From all he knew Homelander should have been trying to affirm his superiority, or at least show Adem the hierarchy of Vought. One where John stood at the top.

But Homelander- this man in front of him- looked really vulnerable. Like he wanted a genuine connection with Adem, but couldn't put it into words properly.

He remained silent for a moment which caused Homelander to smile slightly as he placed a hand on Adem's shoulder. "Just think about it. No pressure, your room in the tower is ready, come over to see it when you feel ready. Bring your little girlfriend too, would love to meet her."

Homelander then flew away, leaving behind a bewildered Supe.
