Chapter 41 - dimensional space inside a Tree

" Ehh… what did I just hear?" Jay muttered incredulously and stopped right next to the large tree.

Seeing that his brother had suddenly stopped and stopped walking, Nining was naturally confused and innocently asked Jay

"Brother, why did you stop?" Nining asked Jay.

"Ahh, sorry Nining, brother just remembered something so he stopped here."

Jay replied, looking more closely at the large tree beside him.

The tree had a large diameter, and from its size, Jay estimated that it would take at least two or three people to surround it.

With such a large diameter, Jay was naturally curious.

After further examination, Jay realized that the large tree beside him was an old teak tree, a tree with excellent wood for building houses and furniture.

(System, what do you mean by detecting dimensional fluctuations from this tree? Quickly explain.) Staring at the tree and scrutinizing its details, Jay then asked his system for the answer he wanted.

[Dimensional fluctuations are special energies detected from a different dimension, leaking into and interfering with the host's current dimension.] the system replied back to Jay.

Hearing the system's explanation, Jay understood a little of what the system meant, but he still needed a more detailed explanation.

Why did dimensional fluctuations appear from that tree? What were their effects? Were there any benefits he could gain? And were there any dangers he should avoid?

Asking all these questions back to the system, Jay quickly received his answers.

[The source of the dimensional fluctuations cannot be explained yet, as the host does not yet have sufficient permissions.]

[There are no significant impacts, except that at certain times the dimensional space will open, and if lucky, anyone near the fluctuations could be sucked in and disappear.]

[There are benefits to be gained for the host by entering the dimensional space in the tree, but there is also the possibility of danger.]

[The level of danger in the dimensional space in the tree can only be measured once the host enters it.] The system replied, answering all of Jay's questions.

"Brother, why are you still standing here? Come back quickly!!" Nining's urging voice rang out again.

"Oh, sorry, Nining, I'm distracted again," Jay apologized to Nining and then continued their journey home, while Jay continued to ask the system in his mind.

(Then, when can I pass through the dimensional space in the tree?) Jay asked the system again as they walked home with Nining.

[It will take another 7 days before the host can enter the dimensional space in the tree.] The system replied.

(Seven days from now, isn't that the day the full moon rises?) Jay muttered doubtfully in response to the system's answer.

(Okay, system, what next steps do you need to take to enter the tree dimension? Do I need any special preparations?) Jay asked again.

[There are no special preparations. The host just needs to be physically and mentally prepared. However, the system recommends that the host keep some weapons and supplies for emergencies.] The system replied again with concern.

("Okay, I understand. So, what is the time flow rate in the tree dimension? Is it the same as the world I live in now?") Finally, Jay asked about the important thing he was worried about: if he managed to enter the tree dimension, the vast difference in time flow would cost him a heavy price. So, to avoid any unwanted consequences, he naturally had to ask.

Jay felt it was better to find out clear information first, rather than recklessly sacrificing the good things he had achieved just for the sake of his sense of adventure.

Thinking of his family and his beloved Nining, Jay didn't want to trade that for something that would carry greater risk.

[Host, please rest assured. Based on the system's detection, the time flow rate in the tree dimension is similar to the time flow rate in the host's dimension.] the system reassured Jay.

(Good, if that's the case, then I'll be relieved to make a decision.) Ultimately, Jay decided to explore.

Although he also realized that he needed to prepare more.

######

Six days passed quickly, and before you know it, Jay was almost there exploring the dimensional space within the large teak tree.

And during his six days of preparation, Jay Jay went to town several times to exchange and find additional weapons for his own defense.

Of course, there were many things he couldn't obtain legally, requiring him to search the black market.

Luckily, these were relatively less restrictive times, and the circulation of firearms was still permitted with special licensing requirements.

But Jay also knew that obtaining a special firearms license was no easy task and extremely difficult.

This involved both his background and a relevant job, two key requirements for which Jay clearly lacked.

So, the only other option was the black market. Unfortunately, there were no stores selling firearms in his city.

The only way he could obtain firearms was by coming to the provincial capital, and after a tedious process yesterday, he successfully purchased them.

One pistol and two long-barreled rifles, along with several hand grenades.

He also obtained hundreds of rounds of ammunition, although he felt unsatisfactory considering the limited variety and quantity of weapons and ammunition.

But there was no other choice, as the black market in the provincial capital could only supply those types, and there were also more varied and heavier varieties.

He could have obtained them in his country's capital, but there was no time right now, so Jay had to make do with what he had.

"Although it feels inadequate, with the addition of arrows and a small knife as a hidden weapon, I have enough confidence to explore.

Now it's time for me to go." Jay, who had decided to go to the dimension of the great tree, was now seen preparing to go there as night fell.

Understandably, he still couldn't leave freely, as his family and village members were still busy working.

Long story short, night fell, and while almost all the villagers were fast asleep in their homes, Jay, who had been waiting patiently, then exited his house through the back door.

He quickly repeated this under the cover of darkness, delving deep into the forest behind the village.

To avoid the patrols of the village militia, Jay decided to make his way there by detour.

Finally, after more than an hour of walking in the darkness, Jay arrived in front of the large teak tree that was his destination.

Looking up at the night sky, which seemed much brighter, Jay faintly saw the bright moonlight from the full moon.

He could sense a different temperature around the large tree.

"It seems much warmer here than around the tree. Could this be due to fluctuations in the dimensional space? Alright, let's not waste any more time, let's explore the dimensional space inside the tree." Jay didn't want to waste any more time and asked the system to tell him how to enter the dimensional space inside the tree.

"System, tell me

how to enter the dimensional space inside this tree," Jay immediately said to the system.

[Host must do…]
