Chapter 243 - My Guardian

(MASON'S POV)

"Hold still, child."

Haelorian placed his hand on my head, and I felt warmth flood through me—not the burning heat of the poison, but a gentle, healing warmth that seeped into my bones, my blood, my very soul. Golden light surrounded me, cocooning me in its embrace, and I felt the venom being purged from my system, drawn out like a poison being sucked from a wound.

The pain faded.

The burning stopped.

And when Haelorian removed his hand, I was whole again.

I gasped, sitting up, my hands flying to my chest, my arms, my face. No burns. No marks. No lingering pain.

I was alive.

"How—" I started, but the words wouldn't come. I looked up at Haelorian, tears streaming down my face. "How did you know? How did you get here so fast? I thought you were at home with Henry?"

Haelorian's expression softened, the celestial fire in his eyes dimming to something gentler, more human. The natural green I knew.
