Claire's POV
After that amazing dinner and the little sweet treat reward, we finally headed back. Phillips had been waiting patiently to take us home, and I climbed into the car with the particular satisfaction of someone who had eaten very well and intended to do absolutely nothing for the rest of the evening.
I barely managed a shower before I collapsed into bed.
"Tomorrow we're starting with Akrotiri," Louis was saying from somewhere behind me. "Then the museum in Fira, then the caldera path toward—"
I let out a loud yawn, barely listening at this point. "Mm."
I heard Louis chuckle in the distance. "Claire."
"I'm listening," I managed to mumble through half lidded eyes. My brain is already closed for the day.
"Your eyes are closed."
"I can…. listen with my eyes closed, Lo..."
He said something else after that. I didn't catch it. Sleep had already made its decision on my behalf.
