Louis' POV
I woke up before Claire did.
For a second, I stayed still, staring up at the ceiling while the events of last night replayed in flashes through my head. Then I reached for my phone. The time on the screen made me sit up.
Right.
The trip.
We had a trip to go on today. Thankfully, the details and whole process has been successfully handled by my assistant, Devin.
Bless him. Since Claire stopped working for me, he had been working two jobs and so I found t crucial to increase his pay.
I glanced beside me. Claire was asleep, tangled in the sheets with her hair everywhere, breathing softly like she didn't have a single responsibility in the world. I circled my hands around her waist, rubbing slowly at her belly.
She wasn't showing much yet but there was a firmness and a slight budge just round enough to know. My heart bloomed with pride and joy.
I'd never thought that I'd be this happy and excited to have a child on the way. Claire changed everything for me.
