Claire's POV
The moment we stepped into the restaurant, I realized just how many people had shown up. The pound table was not enough to accommodate us at all.
The private section was already buzzing with conversation. Laughter echoed through the room as old classmates reunited, some embracing, others exchanging stories as if no time had passed at all.
Before Abby and I could get our bearings, a chirpy woman came rushing toward us.
"Abby!" Her face lit up with excitement. "Oh my God! Is that really you?"
She threw her arms around Abby, planting a kiss on each cheek.
"Hey, girl!" Abby laughed, immediately returning the hug. "How have you been?"
"Good! Good!" She chirped, all smiles and pearly teeth. "You know, I've been busy."
She wasn't familiar and the fact that I didn't recognize her probably meant that she was closer to Abby. Abby was in fact my most friendlier friend. She probably knew everyone here.
