In the spacious hospital room, Lianne Lianne sat primly on the sofa in front of the curved, floor-to-ceiling windows. A maid poured her a glass of warm water.
She held the glass with both hands. The bright sun shone through it, casting a pale golden glint in the clear water.
Lianne Lianne tilted her head to look at the woman sitting across from her. Despite the hospital gown, the woman's stunning beauty was impossible to hide.
The sunlight fell upon Talia Kensington's face. Her complexion was unnaturally pale. The light seemed to wash out the color from her dark brows, lashes, and irises, making her appear all the more frail and broken.
"Lia." Talia Kensington's voice was a little hoarse. "I told him it was nothing, but Caden insisted I be hospitalized. I'm sorry to make you come all this way."
As Lianne studied Talia's features, she realized her own eyes and brows were quite similar. 'No wonder Mrs. Lowell used to hold my hand and say I reminded her of her sister.'
