Hundreds of colossal, rune-etched pillars connected heaven and earth, soaring into the sky and plunging deep beneath the water.
The mysterious, indecipherable symbols were both primitive and uniform. At times they seemed as solemn and weighty as mountains; at others, they flowed with the unrestrained immensity of the ocean currents, sprawling across the heaven-reaching pillars.
