Qingfeng smiled helplessly. 'Xue Rui really is just a kid,' he thought. 'It's best not to show off about things like this.' He figured he would try to advise Xue Rui later; being too flashy wasn't a good thing.
What he didn't know, however, was that Xue Rui had no intention of showing off. He just wanted to give the old lady a little shock, since she seemed to only be interested in the old television at home.
"I can't read, so whatever you say, goes," the old lady said breezily, without even glancing at Xue Rui.
Everyone was stunned by her words. 'This old lady is so composed,' they thought. After all, Xue Rui had just deposited that cash into her account.
Xue Rui was speechless. He felt as if he'd thrown a powerful punch only for it to land on a ball of cotton, all its force completely absorbed.
He wasn't sure if the old lady had no concept of money, or if she was just more nonchalant about things at her age.
In any case, he hadn't managed to shock her.
