After hearing Audrey Osborne's report, Ethan Grant cut the comms link. He continued to stare at the monitor, his fingers tapping lightly on the desk and making a faint sound.
Anyone familiar with him knew this meant he was thinking.
On the monitor, Shirley Thorne and Meredith Rowan were chatting and laughing. They held their drawing boards, discussing poetry and painting, and seemed to be getting along very well.
Ethan was lost in thought, his gaze following Shirley on the monitor. One moment she was passionately at work before her drawing board, the next she was flopped on the sofa like a corpse, exhausted.
When she was motivated, she was practically vibrating with energy. When she was lazy, she was the laziest person alive.
