Chapter 10 - E10

... It was dark...her mind was fuzzy, The world around her faded beneath the relentless ringing in her ears, she turns on the light bulb, she had to be quick, she knew he can just find the keys somwhere in the house.. Or just break the door, she didn't care about the blood dripping against her thighs down to her legs because she now saw a window.. Designed for escaping..

Her eyes widen before anything she took out her phone from her pocket, She didn't need anyone to tell her she already knew from the second when the phone was given to her, she was being tracked. In seconds, she disabled her phone's location services, cutting off the signal completely.. With a quick move she opens it and without hasetation Grabbing the edge of the window frame, she hoisted herself up and slipped out into the night.

The cold wind of the night brushes against her pale skin, smelling freedom, the fresh smell of grasses.. She didn't care who she saw last night in that same garden, she needed to escape,... Then she runs.. Slowly first then harder, she runs without looking back hair flying in the wind nothing passed through her mind except the fact that she was about to escape, until she heard sounds of guards -

but it was already too late for them, she had already escaped the mansion and crossed most of the escape grounds. Now, only the main gate stood between her and freedom, she slowly ducked behind the large fountain, pressing herself against the cold stone as she held her breath. She froze when several guards suddenly raised their hands to their earpieces, their expressions sharpening as someone spoke through the comms, she knew they're warned, 'just how is this possible I ran as fast as I could nearly 5 minutes, leo.. Of course.. I need to go now..!'..

From the edge of the estate grounds, she saw it — the guests were no longer calm. They were speaking sharply, phones in hand, as the guards rushed to shut the gate. A heavy silence fell over the mansion as the entrance was sealed off completely. It made her heart shrink, she shivered not only from coldness.. From fear, panic, realization.

'w-what the hell..?, the guests...mother fucker.. This motherfucker.. I need to do something..!.. M-my phone! Of course fuck yes it's in my pocket yes..! '

Selene takes her phone out quickly, she didn't have enough contacts, only "work" wich was him.demian. The thought alone made her heart beat so fast that she felt like she was being chased, no more contacts.

She knew better than to use the emergency channel. It wasn't a lifeline. It was a trace,That line didn't belong to her now, it belonged to them.

Some dim light takes her attention.. in front of her, far away there was a dim light, 'checking there worths a shot' Selene thought , slowly without making any sounds she changed her position. when she got near there, she made sure no one was there before entering the room..

when she entered, she realized this was the power - room.. The soft buzz sound filled with room everything was immaculate leek metal surfaces, silent systems, and a controlled glow of electricity running through hidden luxury infrastructure, Selene had a brutal thought, she would cut the wire that is the control of everything.., she looked into the room, Among the silent hum of machinery, something sharp caught her eyes a maintenance blade, its steel edge glinting under the cold LED lights, Selene picked it up cerfully, she found the main wire, cut off the thick wire with a smooth sound snip then - a wave of clicks and shut-offs echoing through the mansion and garden

WHOOSH

and everything went dead silent.

The Mansion / office / 10:08 PM

the crackle of burning logs filled the office , Damian Moretti staring outside the window, the view showing everything from outside yet dark.. Nothing visible, the only lights were candle lights, no one even dared to move or make a Sound..

Leo behind him waited, with the other guards behind as he explained everything to Damian calmly..

There were only two things in his mind, how admired a mouse running from a lions cage, and how he felt about it. He felt his blood boiling as he calmly asked for more details..

as he continued to receive the report, the thing that scared everyone even more was his silence.

and he spoke only 3 words in the entire session

"continue"

"and?"

"leave"

He simply couldn't bother knowing more, more importantly, he felt his blood boiling, strangely that made him feel refreshed after a long time, since no one goes against his orders.

Back to Selenes satiuasion, her hands trembled as she to called one her trusted friend, she told him everything, thats she's been kidnapped and she can not call the cops, that everyone was murders there, she describes the place in the middle of her call, The deafening blast tore through the silence. She recoiled instantly, a startled scream ripping from her throat as her hands flew to her ears, knees nearly giving out beneath her...

They found her... Her eyes widen.. Her heart was hammering against her chest as she heared the footsteps, Selene ran step by step until she reached a dead end wall, the wall had beautiful yet sharp self-clinging climbers, The vines were her only way out.

Selene dug her fingers into the dense tangle of self-clinging climbers that blanketed the old stone wall, testing their grip before trusting her weight to them.

The stems were thick near the base woody and stubborn, anchored to the wall like they had grown there for a century. She pulled herself up, shoes finding purchase on the thicker branches, her knuckles scraped raw against the rough stone beneath the leaves.

She didn't look down. Not yet.

The wall seemed to breathe behind her or maybe that was just the sound of the place, She climbed faster. Hand over hand. The ivy rustled around her, dry whispers in the dark, and somewhere below a door slammed. Her stomach lurched.

Keep going. Don't stop.

Her palm finally slapped flat stone, the top of the wall and she hauled herself up with a grunt, swinging one leg over and straddling the edge.

Then she made the mistake of looking down.

Both sides.

The ground on the inside was a dim smear of gravel and shadow, impossibly far below. The outside wasn't much better, a sheer four-metre drop onto grass and packed earth. From up there the saw everything, how big everything was The tree she'd passed through the window every morning, the one that had always seemed so tall she was level with its crown now..

The wind hit her properly for the first time. Cold and real and outside.

She'd never realised how high that wall actually was. From the courtyard you only ever looked up at it. You never imagined being here, perched on its spine like a bird, the whole world suddenly opened up on one side and the whole horrible weight of that place pressing at her back on the other.

She didn't let herself think.

She swung her second leg over, gripped the top edge until her fingers ached, lowered herself as far as her arms would reach and let go.
