📖 EDITION 28 — "THE FALLING WALLS"
Season 1
Opening Scene
Three months had passed.
The Headquarters still stood...
But it was no longer the symbol of hope it once had been.
The walls bore countless cracks.
Watchtowers had been rebuilt again and again.
Soldiers slept in shifts, never for more than a few hours.
The war wasn't destroying the Headquarters...
It was exhausting it.
Headquarters
The Dreamer walked through the corridors.
Everywhere he looked...
People were repairing.
Training.
Preparing.
No one complained.
But everyone was tired.
Dreamer
"...How much longer?"
No one answered.
The Midnight Raid
The moon hung high above the sky.
Everything was silent.
Then...
BOOM!!
The southern gate exploded.
Barbaric Author immediately rushed outside with dozens of soldiers.
Barbaric Author
"Everyone with me!"
They charged into the darkness.
Only to discover...
Nobody.
At that exact moment...
The northern armory burst into flames.
Soldier
"THE ARMORY!"
Before anyone could respond...
Another explosion echoed.
The western communication tower collapsed.
Then another.
The eastern food warehouse.
The Headquarters had been attacked...
From four directions.
At once.
Futuristic Author
"They divided us..."
The Writer clenched his fists.
Writer
"No..."
He looked around.
Writer
"They planned this for months."
Meanwhile...
On a distant mountain...
Malice stood with a massive hammer resting on his shoulder.
He watched the fires from afar.
Malice
"The Headquarters is breaking."
Johan quietly closed another notebook.
Johan
"The walls are."
He smiled.
Johan
"The people aren't."
Nemesis looked toward the burning Headquarters.
His expression remained calm.
Nemesis
"Good."
Endless Days
The attacks continued.
Morning.
Afternoon.
Night.
No schedule.
No warning.
Sometimes only one attacker appeared.
Sometimes none.
Sometimes entire buildings mysteriously collapsed overnight.
No one ever caught the attackers.
The Headquarters slowly began running low on supplies.
Armor couldn't be repaired fast enough.
Medical rooms became overcrowded.
Food was rationed.
Redeemed Author
"We're running out of medicine."
Futuristic Author
"And replacement parts."
Dreamer
"But morale..."
He looked toward the training grounds.
Even after another sleepless night...
Versions continued training.
They refused to quit.
Writer
"They've changed."
The Dreamer nodded.
Dreamer
"The old Headquarters would've already fallen."
The Silent Encounter
One evening...
The Dreamer stood alone outside the Headquarters walls.
A cold breeze passed by.
Suddenly...
He sensed someone behind him.
He turned.
Standing on a distant cliff...
Was Nemesis.
Neither drew a weapon.
Neither moved.
For nearly a minute...
They simply looked at one another.
Finally...
Nemesis spoke.
His voice carried across the wind.
Nemesis
"You've all grown."
The Dreamer answered.
Dreamer
"So have you."
A brief silence followed.
Nemesis
"One battle remains."
Dreamer
"We'll be ready."
Nemesis gave a faint nod.
Not mocking.
Not threatening.
Simply acknowledging his opponent.
Then...
He disappeared into the darkness.
Final Council Meeting
That night...
Every commander gathered inside the Council Hall.
The atmosphere was heavy.
The Writer stood before everyone.
Writer
"For months..."
"We've defended."
He placed his hand on the battle map.
Writer
"But tomorrow..."
"We stop reacting."
Everyone looked at him.
Writer
"Nemesis isn't testing our strength anymore."
He looked toward the Headquarters window.
Writer
"He's waiting."
Silence filled the room.
Everyone understood.
The raids...
The sabotage...
The exhaustion...
It had all led to this.
Far beyond the mountains...
Nemesis stood with Johan, Malice, and The Shattered One.
He slowly unsheathed his sword.
For the first time in ten years...
The blade reflected the rising dawn.
Nemesis
"The waiting..."
"...is over."
The four began walking toward the Headquarters.
Not to raid.
Not to test.
But to wage war.
The sky darkened.
Thunder rolled across the Edition Universe.
The Final War had arrived.
