Scarlett's POV
I glared at Leo and Leonard one last time, the coldness in my chest turning into pure, boiling fury. I didn't say another word to them. Turning on my heel, I stormed out of the office, slamming the heavy door behind me.
My heart was bleeding through the cracked bond, but I forced my legs to move faster. I had to find Liam.
I hurried down the dimly lit hallway of the residential wing until I reached his bedroom door. Pushing it open, I stepped inside and shut it softly behind me.
The room was completely dark. Liam was sitting on the edge of the large bed, his head resting in his hands, his broad shoulders shaking slightly. The powerful Alpha looked completely small and broken in the shadows.
Hearing the door, he slowly lifted his head. His green eyes were completely red, filled with a deep, silent agony that slashed straight through my soul.
