"How is it going?"
Keith let out a frustrated breath and nearly hurled his phone across the car. The moment Sarah had abruptly ended the call, she had become completely unreachable. Every attempt to contact her had failed. His calls went unanswered, his messages remained unread, and with every passing minute, the knot of irritation in his chest tightened further.
"I can't reach her, Dad," Keith said through the phone, his jaw clenched so tightly it ached.
His car continued speeding through the night streets as he headed toward Sarah's apartment. He had already tried convincing her to meet him, but she had refused, claiming she had not even gotten home yet and was still on the road.
The excuse only made him more suspicious.
"She's making excuses because she doesn't want to see me," he continued bitterly. "She said she hasn't gone home yet. Said she's still on the way home, then she cut the line..."
"And you believed her just like that?"
