Sarah stepped into the CEO's office just before the lunch break began. According to the detailed job description Jayden had personally given her, one of her responsibilities as his assistant was to manage his daily schedule, including his meals and rest periods. It was a simple task on paper, but for Sarah, every responsibility connected to Jayden Lin somehow felt far more significant than it should.
The moment she entered the office, however, she realized something was unusual. Jayden was not sitting behind his desk.
The spacious office was quiet, almost silent. The expensive furniture remained exactly where it always was, untouched and immaculate, while the large floor-to-ceiling windows allowed sunlight to pour into the room. Yet the man who usually occupied the space was nowhere to be seen.
