Chapter 134 - Chapter 134: Charizard VS Aerodactyl

Since this place is inhabited by two major groups—Kabutops and Omastar—there would naturally also be a group of Aerodactyl. Red wouldn't be foolish enough to think there was only the single ordinary Aerodactyl from the original story.

Through the probing of Aura abilities, Red and Charizard arrived at the area where the Aerodactyl group resided. Because in ancient times they stood at the top of the food chain and were known as the rulers of the skies, the territory of the Aerodactyl group was three times larger than the combined area of the previous two groups. This was the class distinction brought by differences in strength.

Aerodactyl's body was gray, with parts of its wings being purple. Its appearance resembled a Cretaceous pterosaur. It had four sharp claws, and its teeth were serrated, making it easy to tear apart prey.

After a brief period of observation and comparison, Red set his sights on an Aerodactyl that was clearly the leader. This Aerodactyl stood at 2.5 meters tall, a full 0.7 meters taller than ordinary Aerodactyl.

Notably, this Aerodactyl had a distinct scar on the right side of its face. However, rather than detracting from its appearance, the scar added a sense of oppressive authority to its image as a leader, striking fear into any who dared to challenge it.

"Charizard, no problem making this guy your opponent, right?" Red said casually.

Upon hearing this, Charizard immediately widened its eyes. Didn't Red know its strength?

Thinking this, flames ignited in Charizard's mouth as it angrily wanted to defeat Aerodactyl in a single move. Fortunately, Red noticed Charizard's thoughts and quickly stopped it.

Red had only wanted to lightly stir Charizard's fighting spirit, but didn't expect to push it into frustration instead.

"Charizard, you wouldn't want to take advantage of someone, right? Defeating an exhausted Aerodactyl wouldn't be something worth remembering," Red teased, letting Charizard warm up first. Once Aerodactyl was awakened and recovered, they would begin the battle.

(Power of Viridian!)

A green aura emanated from Red's body and gathered onto the Aerodactyl before him. Driven by instinct, Aerodactyl subconsciously absorbed the natural energy granted by the Power of Viridian.

Aerodactyl slowly opened its eyes, yawning and rubbing them.

As its consciousness gradually cleared, it looked around in shock. Everything was completely different from its memories of once being the ruler of the skies. Before falling asleep, it had been soaring above the blue skies and clouds, yet now it was confined within this cramped underground space.

Aerodactyl struggled to flap its wings to leave, but due to prolonged slumber, its body was severely malnourished and it nearly collapsed to the ground.

"Do you want to witness the vastness of the outside world? I can fulfill your wish—come soar in the skies with me!"

Red looked at Aerodactyl with burning eyes and extended his right hand in invitation.

After hearing Red's words, Aerodactyl finally focused its gaze on the red-capped boy before it. But after carefully observing him, its mouth trembled inexplicably, as if the being standing before it was some kind of prehistoric beast.

(How is this possible? A mere human can make my body feel such fear?!)

"You must be hungry. Eat something simple first to fill your stomach."

With that, Red took out canned meat from his backpack and placed it in front of Aerodactyl.

Aerodactyl sniffed the food first. After confirming nothing was suspicious, it opened its mouth and devoured it. Perhaps due to long starvation, the canned meat Red had just placed on the ground didn't even last a minute before being completely wiped out.

"Looks like you've got quite an appetite," Red joked. Seeing Aerodactyl's longing gaze, he understood it hadn't eaten enough—perhaps not even half full.

After taking out three more cans from his backpack, Aerodactyl finally let out a small burp, licking its teeth happily with narrowed eyes, then moved closer and rubbed against Red's cheek.

(Seems like we might not even need to battle?)

Red helplessly stroked Aerodactyl's forehead. This supposed ruler of the skies seemed unexpectedly cute.

"Aerodactyl, come have a match with Charizard. I'm also looking forward to seeing your current strength," Red said.

Hearing this, Aerodactyl reluctantly nodded, then flapped its wings and flew into the air, its gaze filled with battle intent as it looked down at Charizard.

(What incredible speed!)

This was Charizard's first impression of Aerodactyl, and it looked forward to an exciting battle against this ancient sky ruler.

Charizard let out a low growl toward Red, signaling it could fight on its own and telling Red to stand back and wait for its victory. It then flapped its wings and rose into the air as well.

Due to terrain constraints, both Charizard and Aerodactyl remained in midair, deciding to first test each other with ranged attacks.

Scorching flames burst from Charizard's mouth, forming a pillar of fire that shot toward Aerodactyl.

Sharp stone blades floated around Aerodactyl, then under its control, quickly pierced through the incoming fire pillar.

With a speed invisible to the naked eye, Aerodactyl instantly appeared behind Charizard, its claw glowing with green light as it struck Charizard's back.

"Clang clang clang…"

Charizard frowned from the attack. Although it didn't suffer much damage, the defensive effect of its Multiscale ability had been consumed just like that by Aerodactyl's Dragon Claw.

Annoyed, Charizard spread its massive wings, releasing a silver glow, and used Steel Wing to knock Aerodactyl away behind it.

"So you really do possess pure dragon blood," Aerodactyl said with slight surprise. It had only intended a simple test, but hadn't expected Charizard to truly have dragon attributes.

"There's more that will surprise you!"

As soon as the words fell, a purple-gold dragon killing aura enveloped Charizard, forming a massive energy dragon radiating killing intent. The dragon flapped its wings and charged toward Aerodactyl, its open jaws seeming ready to devour it whole.

Not choosing to counterattack rashly, Aerodactyl used Agility to dodge the Dragon Rush. As Charizard adjusted its flight path, Aerodactyl quickly opened its mouth and unleashed Supersonic.

Due to the environment, the Supersonic waves echoed off the surrounding sharp rocks. As the sound reverberated, Charizard clutched its ears, forced to suffer the effects.

"This Aerodactyl not only completely outclasses Charizard in speed, but also knows how to use the environment to its advantage. Truly worthy of being a former ruler of the skies," Red nodded in praise, growing more and more satisfied with it. After all, Aerodactyl also possessed its own Mega Evolution form.

Falling into confusion, Charizard mistook a nearby stone pillar for Aerodactyl. Its massive wings shone silver as it used Steel Wing on the pillar, shattering the thick structure in a single strike.

Aerodactyl laughed playfully at the confused Charizard. But noticing that Charizard was about to regain clarity, it quickly used Rock Blast toward it.

Hard stones continuously slammed into Charizard's body. The pain from the impacts immediately snapped Charizard out of its confusion.

Realizing it had been toyed with, Charizard's eyes burned with furious flames. Its wounded pride drove it to teach this ancient Pokémon a bone-deep lesson—to show it who the true strong one was.
