To start off, I'm going to be upfront and honest here. This book isn't exactly a rare find. In fact, WebNovel is already saturated with stories that share a similar premise. With that being said, I can't promise that this book will completely blow your mind, but I am doing my best to handle the plot differently and take it in directions that will hopefully give you a unique and enjoyable experience.
This is actually my third book, but it's the first one I've truly felt invested in. The first two remain unpublished due to writing issues and a lack of confidence at the time. Back then, I mostly wrote just to spend my spare time. A hobby, some would say.
If you still can't tell, I'm a new aspiring author who dreams of becoming famous one day and taking over the WebNovel industry… just kidding. But let's not forbid a man from having ridiculous dreams and delusions.
That said, this story will have a slow start. I'm taking my time to fully develop the world and characters rather than rushing things or allowing the plot to become messy and confusing.
I apologize if you came here expecting a fast-paced story where the MC constantly jumps from one plot point to another. No pun intended.
Also, no harems.
There will be romance and multiple female characters in the future, but I do not plan on writing a harem. It's simply not something I personally enjoy, although there are a few works in the genre that I genuinely like.
Romance is something I truly enjoy writing. I've written quite a few romance short stories over the years, and I must admit that some of them were terrible while others turned out surprisingly well. Unfortunately, I never had the confidence to share them with the world.
I also apologize if my prose feels lacking at times. My vocabulary isn't particularly extensive yet, but I'm actively trying to improve. I read and study other works for inspiration, both in terms of plot and writing style. Some of my favorites include Shadow Slave, Omniscient Reader, Kill the Sun, and The Novel's Extra, among many others.
As for the main character, Arthur or Vexis, depending on how you refer to him, you'll quickly notice that Arthur and the original Vexis are not the same person. Arthur isn't an idiot, but he isn't omniscient either. He knows the story and its major events, but a human brain can only retain so much information. So don't expect a super-genius protagonist who remembers every tiny detail. He's intelligent, just not unrealistically so.
Don't worry, though. The plot will pick up as the story progresses. If you're looking for tension, intense action, emotional moments, or even a bit of heartbreak, you'll find plenty of it here. I have to admit, I really enjoy writing angst. Anything related to angst, honestly. The romance might surprise you as well.
This book is heavily inspired by stories where the protagonist becomes an extra in a novel they've read. You probably already know the type of story I'm talking about. Even so, I want to bring my own spin to the concept, and I'm doing my best to deliver something fresh.
As for the concern about AI use, I'm going to be completely honest.
Yes, I use AI.
But probably not in the way you're imagining.
I don't throw a prompt into ChatGPT and ask it to write a fifty-chapter novel for me. I don't let AI create the story, characters, plot twists, or chapters.
I write the chapters myself. I create the drafts. The outlines. The story progression. The character names. The worldbuilding. The actual content of the novel comes from me.
A dumb human, in other words.
However, because English isn't my first language and my vocabulary is still limited, I don't always feel confident publishing my raw drafts. So I use AI as a tool to help me fix grammar mistakes, missing quotation marks, punctuation issues, and awkward phrasing.
In short, AI is my editor, not my writer.
