Chapter 35 - Last Day Awake.

Kaelen sat quietly in his room.

There was a drained look in his eyes as he stared absentmindedly at the roof while laying in the sleeping pod.

Five days were not really that much time but he felt a bit of pride when he thought about what he was able to accomplish and learn about himself and the assets he had at his disposal.

He closed his eyes, not taken by sleep just yet.

He was performing an action he learnt he was capable of during the last few days of playing with the Pure Abomination.

Shared sense

Looking through the eyes of the monster he saw it walking around within his soul sea, the Sprite - Hollow Hound was there too.

How odd it was, seeing through the eyes of another being.

Closing that aspect of their connection he opened his eyes and thought of everything he had prepared for his trip to the dream realm.

All of his weapons and memories in general were perfectly functional.

He had stored enough food and other important resources into the Seafarers Satchel to last him about two to three months.

'I wonder where I will end up...' He sighed

'And who will I be sent with?'

He had not the slightest clue.

He was not sent to the same time as Sunny which he had expected which already threw all of the expectations he held within the first nightmare out the window.

He also did not form any relationships with the Sleepers in the compound.

The plan was to go and form a few friendships and hopefully find a name that he recognized but there was nothing, even when looking at the sleeper leaderboard there was no name that he saw that rang a bell.

As for the sleeper leaderboard he was ranked towards the middle of the group most likely because the Awakened responder Leila would have told them she saw him using fire which they must have thought was his Aspect ability.

'Is it stupid for me to want to go to the forgotten shore?'

He smiled

A Dead Zone with a great titan cosplaying as an ocean, within that ocean lay numerous horrors - some of the corrupted rank. The only safe zone in the region was a city that was teeming with Fallen and Awakened abominations.

But would he be able to survive?

Most likely, Yes.

Would the answer be the same if he was sent to the Chained isles were the crushing was waiting to turn him to mush? Would the answer be the same if he ended up somewhere close to Bastion or Ravenheart were a hoard of creatures could be waiting?

There was no real answer as to what was better it was just a matter of which place he knew best, and that was the forgotten shore.

For a few moments more he just lay there the sleepiness mounting slowly

Then when the pull became more apparent, he closed the lid to the pod and heard it click into place.

'Just don't throw me in front of a cursed one...'

He asked the spell while knowing it was not going to show him much sympathy.

'Hey pup.'

He allowed the thoughts to flow in his mind knowing that the beast could hear his thoughts.

'Just get prepared incase we end up needing to fight, okay?'

Within his soul sea the Pure Abomination seemed to smile, if that contortion of facial muscles could be called a smile.

Now taken completely by the pull of sleep he heard:

[Welcome to the Dream Realm, Kaelen!]
