Maniel Daen Silvester was in the middle of writing a letter when the world shook.
He sat alone in his dull office, hand working on the paper on top of his desk. He sighed, mind wandering toward the events that'd occurred earlier today. Too much had happened in one day.
The High-ball, the arrival of Duke Belognia, the Duke's interrogation about the Court of Nine, his High-ball being ruined, and the cause of aforementioned ruin…
The 9th-circle mage who'd apparently beaten up Franklin Belognia and whisked away with his daughter.
A wicked grin split Maniel's lips. Well, maybe it wasn't a bad day after all.
He just had to finish his letter, describing today's events to the Court of Nine, telling them about Duke Belognia and how he had his eyes set on them, encouraging caution. And, of course, Maniel was going to omit the part of the Duke's son being beat up by a 9th-circle.
That was going to be his edge and advantage.
