Chapter 78 - Episode 75 - The Day She Stops Waiting

Seo-yeon didn't panic, and she didn't cry. She didn't even question whether the message in her notebook was real; she simply accepted it. She accepted it not emotionally, but structurally, because she knew that denial would never change the fact of its existence.

She sat at her desk with the notebook open in front of her. Her future handwriting stared back at her—calm, precise, and familiar in a way that made her chest ache.

You were never supposed to remember this much.

It wasn't a warning, and it wasn't a threat. It was information. It meant that remembering was a deviation, and deviation created instability. Instability, in turn, forced a response from the system.

Her fingers rested lightly on the paper. If her future self had left this message, it meant two things: she had survived long enough to write it, and something had gone wrong enough that she needed to warn herself.

Her breathing slowed as she closed the notebook carefully. Then, she stood up. For weeks, she had been reacting, adapting, and positioning herself. Now, she understood something clearly: waiting was no longer safe. Waiting meant allowing the system to define her outcome.

She stepped into the hallway, and her father looked up from the table. Concern flickered across his face. "You're going out?"

She nodded. "I need to finish something."

He hesitated—not because he didn't trust her, but because he understood instinctively that she had crossed into territory where he could no longer protect her. He didn't stop her. He simply said, "Be careful."

She met his eyes. "I will."

It wasn't a promise. It was an intention.

She left the house, not as someone escaping, but as someone stepping forward into the design.
