Chapter 191 - Chapter 190: Sisterly Argument

Naturally, Mo Xi immediately tried to stop her hot-headed little sister.

What she didn't expect was for Mo Xin to suddenly blurt out something utterly shocking.

"Sister, why are you so determined to stop me from getting revenge for you? Oh my God... Sister, don't tell me you're actually one of those masochistic 'M-types' who likes being bullied?! How come I never knew? Does Sister Acheron kno— Ow!"

As expected, the outspoken and utterly incredulous Mo Xin was immediately rewarded with a flick to the forehead.

The blow instantly transformed her mixed feelings of indignation and amusement into pure grievance.

Mo Xi (▼皿▼#): As expected... why was I feeling touched just now?

Taking a deep breath, Mo Xi glanced at her younger sister, who was clutching her forehead in pain while continuing to run her mouth.

Mo Xin (இдஇ`):

"Sister, why did you hit me for no reason?! I couldn't have actually guessed right, could I?! Sister, you—"

Mo Xi: (●—●)

Taking another deep breath, Mo Xi forcefully suppressed the frustration building in her chest and straightened her slightly disheveled clothes.

Only after calming herself down did she shoot her sister a disappointed look.

Mo Xin had grown up under her sister's iron-fisted authority.

The moment she felt that soul-piercing stare again, she immediately lowered her head. Her face turned pitiful in an instant, as though she might burst into tears at any moment.

"Si-Sister... why are you looking at me like that again...I was only trying to help you..."

Her voice trembled slightly as she aggrievedly pressed her index fingers together.

She didn't even dare raise her head, afraid of meeting that terrifying gaze.

Looking at her sister's innocent expression—still completely unaware of where she'd gone wrong—Mo Xi felt both exasperated and helpless.

Still, she reached out and poked Mo Xin's forehead again.

"Let's ignore the nonsense you were making up about your sister earlier. Just listen to what you were saying. Does any proper young lady talk like that? It's absolutely outrageous."

Mo Xin lowered her head and muttered stubbornly,

"What's wrong with it? It's just an eye for an eye. If someone dares to bully you while I'm not around, then they're clearly looking down on me. Am I not allowed to get even for you? Besides, I didn't even say I was going alo— Ow!"

Mo Xi sighed softly.

"Mo Xin, what exactly have you been learning at school lately? Fine. Since you're doing it for your sister's sake, I admit I'm a little touched. But what are you trying to do, exactly? You were never this impulsive before. Now you're acting recklessly without thinking about the consequences. Did going to school turn you into some kind of silly sweet idiot? Have you completely lost your sense of judgment?"

...

Thus began a lengthy exchange of arguments and counterarguments.

In the end, it naturally concluded with the older sister's overwhelming victory.

Yet despite successfully covering up the truth, Mo Xi couldn't feel happy at all.

Instead, her heart felt strangely heavy.

Mo Xi (;´༎ຶ◡༎ຶ`):

Sigh... my little sister has finally grown up...

But why does it feel like she grew up crooked...?

What had happened to the silly, clingy, occasionally temperamental little sister she remembered?

She still cared deeply for her family, of course.

But now her temper was as volatile as a firecracker, ready to explode at the slightest spark.

Looking at her grown-up sister, Mo Xi suddenly felt a wave of guilt.

As an older sister, perhaps she had failed.

She had always focused on taking care of Mo Xin physically, but she had never truly tried to understand her inner thoughts or pay attention to her emotional growth.

Meanwhile, Mo Xin was feeling rather awkward.

Mo Xin (◐ o ◑ ):

Oh no... I got too worked up.

I almost let Sister realize how much I've changed.

Under her sister's overwhelming pressure, Mo Xin's survival instincts once again seized control.

She suddenly remembered a crucial fact.

Her sister was still an ordinary person.

She hadn't found the right opportunity to reveal her true identity and make a grand entrance yet.

Which meant that, from Mo Xi's perspective...

She probably looked like some sort of delinquent troublemaker now.

In the end, the matter came to an awkward conclusion.

Under repeated demands from her sister, Mo Xin reluctantly promised not to do anything reckless.

Mo Xi was willing to keep things from their parents, but she absolutely refused to let them get involved.

After all, she knew the truth behind everything.

If their parents learned about it, it would only create unnecessary complications.

Though Mo Xin was unwilling, she could only grit her teeth and compromise beneath her sister's unquestionable authority.

Seeing that the crisis had finally been resolved, Mo Xi let out a long sigh of relief.

...

Meanwhile, in a dormitory elsewhere.

Yunli stared silently at the text message on her phone, deep in thought.

[Master Yunli, are you free lately? Let's go ambush someone with a club one day!]

"Yunli, are you ordering takeout? Get something for me too!"

"Huh? Oh... okay..."

Yunli replied awkwardly while discreetly angling her phone screen away from the other person.

...

"Did you hear me? You're not allowed to do anything reckless anymore, understand?"

The obedient and well-behaved Mo Xin quietly slipped the phone she'd been secretly using back into her pocket.

Mo Xin (✿◕‿◕):

"Okay, Sister. I understand!"

But inwardly, she was thinking:

Hmph. Who doesn't have connections these days?

Completely unaware of her sister's thoughts, Mo Xi looked at the suddenly obedient Mo Xin and sighed inwardly.

After all, if this girl had ever been this obedient when they were younger, she wouldn't have needed to be such a strict older sister.

After pondering for a moment, she continued giving a few more reminders.

As usual, Mo Xin listened attentively to every word.

Mo Xi (σ-`д・´):

"Anyway, use your brain more in the future. And look—your sister is perfectly fine."

As she spoke, Mo Xi lifted part of her clothing, revealing a patch of fair, delicate skin.

Clearly, she was trying to reassure her sister and stop her from digging any deeper.

Upon closer inspection, the skin was smooth and flawless, without the slightest trace of injury.

What Mo Xin didn't know was that, during the pauses in their conversation, Mo Xi had quietly used the last remnants of her spiritual energy to heal the more obvious wounds on her body.

That was why she looked completely unharmed now.

Although Mo Xin still had her suspicions, she chose not to press the matter and outwardly accepted the explanation.

Seeing that the lecture was finally over, Mo Xi shifted the topic.

"By the way, where did Sister Acheron ran off to?"

"Oh, Sister Acheron said she wanted to buy some peaches nearby as an apology for worrying you."

As she spoke, Mo Xin pointed toward the intersection ahead.

"Over there. Just around that corner. There's a fruit stand."
