Chapter 96 - little nuisance

Third Person

The sun had fully set. Parts of the castle were too quiet for comfort, while others boasted with laughter and celebration. The departure of Prince Rhett was announced for three days later, and the people began preparing to bid one of their princes goodbye.

The news had not been welcomed with open hearts, and worse, even the King's cabinet rejected the idea of continuation. But the message had been delivered by a guard, and the king refused to revisit the subject. Reluctantly, the elders and nobles had no option but to pass the decree.

Prince Rhett was in his room when a guard came with the news. It wasn't a surprise. He had expected it, and he had not hoped even for a second that the king would change his mind.

So reluctantly, he turned to Hazel.

"Start packing. It's a long journey. Make sure to bring out the essentials."

Hazel bowed and stepped into the bedroom, while Rhett walked and sat by the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the outlawn.
