Chapter 180 - 179

Chapter 179

Impossible

The moment Arthur set off, he sensed a powerful aura standing in his path, dense and unnaturally stable.

'Damn it... did someone reach the cave before me?'

Arthur suppressed his aura further and further, concealing his presence to the absolute minimum, and advanced cautiously, prepared for any possible confrontation. With every step, his senses were sharpened, and his mind analyzed every fluctuation in the air.

A few moments later, he arrived at a quiet flowing river. Its clear waters reflected the light of the sky, while medicinal herbs of various grades grew along its banks, arranged as though they had been carefully collected.

Behind the herbs stood several golden vials, neatly lined up.

In front of them sat a young man in a cross-legged position, his hands resting before his abdomen as he immersed himself in cultivation.

It was...

Zhuo Fan.

'So this bastard got here before me after all.'

A faint smile appeared on Arthur's face as he looked toward the vials.

|The Morphing Liquid is contained within these vials.|

Arthur smiled calmly as he listened to Cain's voice in his mind, then sat to the side patiently, waiting for Zhuo Fan to complete his breakthrough.

---

Three Days Later...

Zhuo Fan's body trembled violently.

Blood poured from his eye as a brilliant golden beam burst forth from it, piercing through the cave and tearing apart the darkness around them.

"Ooooh... congratulations, you bastard."

Zhuo Fan's body stiffened.

He quickly turned around and saw Arthur sitting there without a care in the world.

"So you've come..." Zhuo Fan said calmly.

The corners of Arthur's lips rose slightly as he looked at him before shifting his gaze toward the golden vials.

"Well... well."

Zhuo Fan sighed, picked up several vials, and handed them to Arthur without hesitation.

Arthur accepted them with a calm smile, and the two left the cave together.

Zhuo Fan froze for a moment when he saw the scene before him.

The Venom Dragon...

Nothing remained except a pile of scattered white bones.

"Astaroth... it's time to go."

Arthur spoke in a low, calm voice.

The water around them rippled, and Astaroth suddenly appeared, but his size was now nearly equal to that of the Venom Dragon.

"You've gotten big, kid... you won't be able to wrap around my neck anymore."

The moment he finished speaking, Astaroth's body trembled.

Then he gradually shrank until he returned to his usual small size.

Arthur paused for a moment and stared at him in silent surprise.

"So... Astaroth devoured the Venom Dragon."

Zhuo Fan explained,

"The Venom Dragon had refined its body using the power of the Morphing Liquid, which allowed it to freely alter its size. After Astaroth devoured it, he also consumed that refinement... and his body transformed."

As he spoke, he looked at the blood-red serpent coiled around Arthur's neck with a gaze mixed with admiration and envy.

Arthur smiled calmly and gently patted Astaroth's head.

"Alright... where are we going next?"

---

The two moved together, heading deeper into the mountain.

During this hunt, Arthur obtained numerous rewards:

The Morphing Liquid, rare herbs, and most importantly...

Astaroth's tremendous growth.

Although he did not obtain the Advancement Elixir that Zhuo Fan had already consumed, he compensated for it with the mission reward and other gains that were no less valuable.

---

After some time, the two arrived at an area where death hung heavily in the air.

Corpses were scattered everywhere.

The blood had not even dried yet.

"It's the Luo Clan... and Ning'er."

The two spoke at the same time.

Zhuo Fan looked at Arthur and calmly asked,

"You're looking for Little Moon, aren't you?"

"Yes... but I'll help the Luo Clan first, and then—"

Zhuo Fan interrupted him.

"No need. Beast King's Mountain is vast and dangerous. I'll go help Ning'er and the Luo Clan. You go and look for Little Moon."

A faint smile appeared on Arthur's face.

He patted Zhuo Fan's shoulder and departed without hesitation, searching for his sister.

---

Time passed...

And Arthur found no trace of her.

No aura.

No signs of battle.

Not even a single clue.

'Damn it... my magical energy is starting to run low because of all this flying.'

Arthur quietly cursed his luck.

Unlike Zhuo Fan, he possessed no wings.

Instead, he relied on compressing magical energy beneath his feet, allowing him to float through the air as though walking upon clouds.

It was an effective technique...

But one that consumed an enormous amount of energy.

He sat down to the side and released his Divine Sense with its full power, sweeping through the surrounding area.

Yet all he sensed were violent clashes between spiritual beasts.

"Looks like Zhuo has started his battle against the First Prince."

Arthur relaxed slightly before taking a bracelet from his storage.

The Magic King's Bracelet.

The bracelet he had obtained in Kim Dokja's world after surviving one of those cursed scenarios.

He stared at it silently as memories flooded his mind.

With a heavy sigh, he tightened his grip around it.

"And who would've imagined I'd be using this old bracelet now..."

He placed it around his wrist, sat cross-legged, and began gathering magical energy.

---

Two Days Later...

Arthur opened his eyes.

"Good... my body has become a little stronger than before."

During the past two days, he had used all the energy he gathered to strengthen his body before drawing upon the power stored within the bracelet.

The bracelet functioned as a portable reservoir, absorbing magic from the surroundings and channeling it into Arthur's body whenever needed.

Then suddenly—

He felt a powerful surge of energy erupt nearby.

Arthur rushed forward at high speed and arrived at a strange location.

Everyone was standing motionless.

He saw Xie Tianyang charge toward Zhuo Fan with tears in his eyes before punching him with all his strength.

"What happened here...? Did—"

Before he could finish the thought, a memory exploded within his mind.

The same scene...

The same anger...

The same way Xie Tianyang had punched him before.

And then he remembered why.

"Ning'er."

Everyone heard Arthur's voice and turned toward him.

"Zhuo... where is Ning'er?"

Arthur slowly stepped forward.

A small, tense smile rested upon his face as he waited for an answer...

But no one replied.

He began searching among the bodies.

Until he stopped.

He saw a small figure lying on the ground, as though peacefully asleep.

It was Ning'er.

Dead...

Before Arthur's eyes.
